Nose Surgery Reviews

A rhinoplasty review from someone who had almost no nasal bridge

I had wanted rhinoplasty since I was young, but I had many concerns, so I researched clinics for a very long time. After comparing before-and-after photos from many clinics, I decided to have surgery at [Clinic A], which best matched the natural look I wanted. Before surgery, I had almost no nasal bridge, the area between the bridge and tip looked sunken, and the tip was relatively wide, small, and low. Rather than a high, sharply pointed nose, I wanted one that naturally suited my face. I especially cared about the recessed columella, the shape of the tip, and a straight nasal-bridge line. I had surgery using a customized implant, septal cartilage, and auricular cartilage. Since I did not want much height, costal cartilage was not used. From the moment the splint was removed, I felt that my original nose had been improved in a truly natural way. I especially liked that the columella came out beautifully without being excessive and that the height suited my face. Natural does not mean it looks as if I had no surgery; it means I feel I now have the nose that suits my face best. The swelling and bruising subsided faster than expected, and I am still satisfied as I approach two months post-op. If you are deliberating over rhinoplasty, I think it is very important to look at many before-and-after photos from different clinics, rather than comparing only prices, and to clearly understand the surgeon's aesthetic sense and the nose shape you want. I deliberated over this for a long time too, and ultimately that helped me the most in making my decision.
