I received Botox for pebble chin (mentalis) because wrinkles like gravel formed at the tip of my chin when chewing or closing my lips, making my jawline look blunt. The procedure took about 5 minutes and was very simple. It involved a few light injections around the chin, and the pain was tolerable with an ice pack.
Main course and changes * Weeks 1–2: About a week after treatment, I felt the mentalis muscle weakening. The crinkled wrinkles that appeared when closing my mouth smoothed out, making the chin much smoother. * Month 1: The bluntness at the chin decreased and softened downward slightly, making the overall facial line feel noticeably sharper.
Drawbacks and precautions For the first few days, the chin felt slightly awkward or stiff when speaking or drinking through a straw. Also, because Botox gradually wears off after about 3–6 months, regular maintenance is necessary, which was a little disappointing.
Still, the reasonable cost and short procedure time made my appearance much neater, and the jawline-contouring effect was noticeable, so my overall satisfaction is very high.
