10 years ago, I had my first surgery using silicone and ear cartilage. Back then, I just did it because I didn’t like my low nose. It wasn’t an upturned nose or a bulbous nose, just a somewhat low nasal bridge, a nose that would look okay with filler..
For 10 years, my nose had no symptoms at all. No pain, heat sensation, redness, nothing, but over those 10 years my nose slowly kept lifting, and in the end, it became a completely upturned noseㅠㅠ
Honestly, I didn’t even know my nose had lifted this much. Because
it had been rising little by little, slowly, so as someone who looked in the mirror every day, I don’t think I could really feel the change at all.
Starting a few years ago, I suddenly developed a habit of covering my nose when taking photos, you know? Even then, I didn’t know this was contracture.
Because it didn’t hurt… I thought the slight gradual lifting might just be a natural symptom because it had been a long time since my nose surgery.
I think I went to a total of about 8 plastic surgery consultations last year and this year, but only 3 of them said it seemed like contracture. Because I hadn’t brought photos of my previous nose, and I guess the doctors were also unsure whether it was contracture.
But after revision surgery, when I looked at photos from 10 years ago when I had my first nose surgery, my nose now looked exactly the same as my nose back then.
It was definitely contractureㅜㅜ
What’s certain is that until year 3, my photos were always consistent and my nose didn’t look lifted.
When did it start lifting little by little?
I’m scared going forwardㅜㅜ I’m afraid it might rise again little by little.. I’m also scared that if it rises so slightly that it’s hard to notice, I won’t realize it again.
It’s scary that contracture happened even after passing the stable periodㅠㅠ
Revision surgery hurt so much that I never want to have a third surgery, no matter whatㅠㅠ
For everyone who, like me during their first surgery, wants to do it just because their nose is a bit lowㅠㅠ really, when it comes to the nose, think very carefully before doing it…ㅠㅠ
