Before <before surgery> After <5 weeks after surgery - when the blackheads were still there> After <1 year after surgery> After <post-surgery photo> This is a bulbous nose surgery review I’m posting after a really long time~
I posted a review before too, and back then I said I would take and upload photos once a week, but in the end I couldn’t do it lol
But this time, a little over 1 year has passed since the surgery, so I’m writing another review.
*My previous post is here >> [link omitted]
I went around looking for hospitals mainly for bulbous nose surgery. Someone I know is a plastic surgeon, so I went there too, and I really did a lot of consultations in person.
But my face has quite severe asymmetry, so at every hospital I went to for a consultation, a lot of them said they could make my nose look prettier, but my facial asymmetry might look even more severe, so I might not like it or it could stress me out. So most places told me to take that into account and decide whether or not to have surgery. ㅜㅜ
Then I got a recommendation from a community for K Plus Kim Se Young Plastic Surgery, so I went there.
The director also said that if silicone were inserted, the nose could become prettier, but the facial asymmetry could look severe, but that without inserting silicone, he could operate in a way that would reduce the bulbous nose look while matching the overall feel of my face! As I listened to the consultation, I liked it because this was the first place that accurately pointed out my situation and, at the same time, suggested a method that suited me haha
To be honest, my bulbous nose was my biggest source of stress, so I thought I would be satisfied as long as that was resolved, so I decided to have surgery here.
After that, as 1 year passed after the surgery, my thoughts changed a lot, and I wanted to organize the things I experienced in writing, so I ended up writing this review.
@ Changes in my nose after surgery
First of all, as time passed and the swelling went down, the unique unnatural look of having had surgery eased. The nasal tip and alar areas used to look separately like three circles, but now they look smoothly connected, so it became more natural. But it’s not like there was an extremely dramatic change; I could see the process where the parts that bothered my eyes disappeared and became more natural.
But right after the surgery, my nose looked a little upturned, so I didn’t like it and was worried... That was resolved as the swelling went down!!! It really was something that needed time.
@ Alar reduction
I did have alar reduction, but breathing feels similar to before without any particular discomfort~
@ Skin
I used to hear a lot that my skin was good, but after surgery I couldn’t even wash around my nose, so blackheads just started appearing ㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠㅠ (So in the photos I uploaded in my previous post, you could really see that my skin condition was bad ㅠㅠ) For some reason, I felt like skincare wasn’t working well either, so I was really upset and worried a lot, but my skin returned to how it originally was!! Also, after the alar reduction, the surgical scar was very visible on one side, but now it has almost disappeared, so it’s hard to see.
@ A hospital that was consistently kind
Some people may not care about this, but while going around plastic surgery clinics, I really saw a lot of very unfriendly staff members. People who have gone around for consultations probably know ㅠㅠ When I asked questions, some would kind of laugh at me as if to say, “Why would you ask that?” Appointment times weren’t kept, there was almost no time to talk with the doctor, and I was passed straight to the coordinator, and when I read hospital reviews, I saw a lot of posts saying that after surgery people barely got to see the doctor, or if anything seemed strange or a problem occurred, some people acted like it wasn’t their responsibility, so I felt worried somehow. But at the hospital I went to, everyone at the front desk was so kind, and every time I went, I had a consultation before meeting the director, and I was truly grateful that they responded to me brightly until the very end. Also, the director who performed my surgery answered my questions all the way through whenever I asked, and personally checked the surgical area every time, so I felt reassured before and after surgery. And after surgery, I went to the hospital every day for about 10 days to have it disinfected, and the director personally did all of that and checked it for me! The post-surgery care was seriously amazing!!
After surgery, mine wasn’t the kind of surgery where I dramatically raised the bridge of my nose, so people around me wouldn’t know I had surgery unless I told them, but every time I met people after surgery, I heard a lot of comments like, “Did you lose weight?” and “Your vibe seems different,” so I felt good lolololol But honestly, I didn’t lose weight haha I’m thinking maybe it’s because my nose became slimmer than before.
I worry a lot and am more sensitive to pain than other people, so I was really worried before surgery, which is probably why I searched so hard for surgery reviews. I was really grateful to the people who wrote them because I could get a lot of good information from the reviews, and now I’m proud that I’m able to write one myself haha
In my previous post, just in case I ended up not liking this hospital after surgery and might post a negative review... lol I intentionally didn’t share the clinic name publicly and only told people who asked by private message or secret comment, but I’m happy that I’m able to leave a good review haha
I hope this helps people looking for plastic surgery information in this community!
