Before-before-before-after**I do not share the primary-surgery clinic!
<Why I’m writing this review> Those who know already know, but this clinic does not run review events. Because of that, there are relatively few reviews compared with the level of surgical satisfaction, so I’m writing this in case anyone is hesitating because there are only a few reviews.
<Background of my failed primary surgery> About 2 years ago, I had my first cosmetic surgery ever, rhinoplasty, at a certain clinic. (It was not an unknown clinic. It was a famous clinic that was often mentioned in this community too, and it was somewhere I found after doing quite a lot of research myself. It was known for making bulbous noses look dramatic.) For reference, my original nose bridge itself was not low, but because the shape was bulbous, it looked round overall, and I wanted to improve that part clearly. At the time, I went to three consultations. Two clinics said my nose was not that difficult and quoted around 3 million won, while the remaining clinic added this and that and quoted 5 million won. But I don’t know what possessed me then; I decided to get my nose surgery at the place quoting 5 million won, and right after the consultation, I paid the deposit and set the surgery date.
<Early correction after the failed primary surgery & review of the major failure> A few days later, I had surgery, and one week later, the moment the splint came off and I looked in the mirror, all I could think was, “I’m screwed.” The silicone was shifted to the right. It wasn’t bent; literally, the axis of my nose was shifted to the right... The situation was so serious that even the director of that clinic immediately admitted the silicone had been inserted incorrectly. Two weeks after that, I received an early correction, so the silicone went into the proper position, but... the problem was that the shape of my nose was really, really strange. Even considering that there was a lot of swelling because the splint had just come off, the nose shape was just really awful.. The bulbous nose had not improved at all, and because the tip had been projected excessively, I thought it looked just like a monkey’s nose. With rhinoplasty, they say the nasal tip droops more over time, but mine had been drooping from the very beginning.
However, because my nose had already been opened twice, including the early correction, I did not consider revision surgery. Then about 2 years passed, and I had wedding snaps taken. I looked through the snap photos full of anticipation and completely lost it mentally. I already knew my nose was not pretty, but the axis was drooping much more strangely than I had expected ㅜㅜ
<Why I decided on revision surgery & how I came to this clinic> After the snap shoot, I suffered over it for several days and thought I could not go through the wedding with this nose, so I decided on revision surgery. After deciding on revision surgery, I only booked a consultation at this clinic. This is where my older sister had her surgery. In her case, she had rhinoplasty more for function than for aesthetics, and because she had congenital problems with her nose, the surgery was very difficult, yet it ended very successfully. On top of that, the director also slightly refined her nasal tip, so her line came out really, really pretty, and that made me trust that I should do it here too.
<First visit & consultation> On the day I went for the consultation, the director first examined the inside of my nose based on CT images. Then he said my nasal septum was severely deviated, and that in this state it must have been hard to breathe, so I probably slept with my mouth open; he asked whether I had been okay all this time. Actually, since my primary surgery, my right nostril had been blocked, so I had been living without being able to breathe properly, and the director said the septum had to be corrected first. (For reference, the deviated septum was also a problem that appeared after the primary surgery.)
Next, the director examined the outside of my nose and said my nose looked extremely long because the tip had been projected too excessively. He also said the line was not pretty. (Brutally honest) As for the surgical method, he said that although I had a bulbous nose, my nasal bones were also wide, so simply raising the tip would make it difficult to create a slim shape; he recommended osteotomy. On the other hand, because the skin at my nasal tip was thin, he said he did not particularly recommend alar reduction. He said we should remove subcutaneous fat or soft tissue first, and if the tip was still blunt afterward, then proceed with cartilage suturing. After the consultation, I paid the deposit that same day, and on the day of surgery, the director explained the surgical method once more and then performed the surgery.
<Advantages of this clinic that I personally felt> Today, 5 days after surgery, I had the splint removed. To list the advantages I have felt so far: 1. There is only one chief director, and the number of surgeries performed per day is fixed, so it feels trustworthy. 2. Since there are no review events, I do not have distrust about false advertising. 3. There is little swelling or bruising after surgery. (Compared with the primary-surgery clinic, this was really amazing. I wonder if it is because the director minimizes the open-surgery time.) 4. The aftercare is really well organized. They even give you a separate nurse’s contact information that is available 24 hours a day for emergencies that occur after clinic hours. 5. Every time I visit, the director personally checks my progress. 6. The stitch-removal process really does not hurt. (At the primary-surgery clinic, they removed the stitches so painfully that stitch-removal time was genuinely terrifying, but the nurse here removed them really well without pain.) 7. The AS period is as long as 3 years, so if a problem occurs during that time, you can receive surgery for free and only pay the anesthesia fee.
<Right after the splint came off> During my primary surgery, the moment the splint came off and I saw myself in a hand mirror, I thought, “I’m screwed.” But today at this clinic, the moment the splint came off and I looked in the mirror, all I could think was, “This is insane, it’s so pretty.” Because I had revision surgery before my wedding, I had been anxious and my mind was complicated, but the moment I looked in the mirror, it felt like all the indigestion cleared away. First of all, I can breathe extremely well, and of course, the nasal tip that had been sticking out excessively long had gone right back in. The tip was lifted exactly prettily, and even expecting that it will drop a little over time, the angle was perfect. And it felt like he did not just look at and refine my nose alone, but refined it to suit my overall facial features. My boyfriend was shocked as soon as he saw it and said it turned out so well. Since our wedding is coming up, he had been very worried about revision surgery, so he was happy and said it was such a relief.
Of course, the splint has only just come off, so there is still a lot of swelling, but I think it will become extremely pretty once the swelling goes down. Even though I had osteotomy, there is almost no bruising, and I can definitely feel that my nasal bridge has been defined. It would have been great if I had received my primary surgery from Director Hyun Sang-min, but on the other hand, I am truly grateful that I could at least receive my revision surgery from him.
<To those considering this clinic> I gain absolutely nothing from recommending this clinic. I wrote this review simply because I thought there might be people like me who failed their primary surgery and are mentally devastated, and I wanted to help even a little.
Of course, I do not think this clinic can be a perfect fit for everyone. Because after having surgery myself and browsing this community, I found that Director Hyun pursues a design with a “natural + subtly glamorous” feel, so people who want an unconditionally sharply standing, dramatic-looking nose may not be a good match with him.
However, among people who prioritize safety, <those who want to clearly correct the current problems with their nose + not be overly greedy, but want a naturally pretty nose that suits their facial features> should definitely visit this clinic at least once and get a consultation.
Personally, I think the fact that the AS period is 3 years already proves the director’s pride in his own work and his sincerity toward patients. Director, thank you so much from the bottom of my heart!!
