Nose Re-Surgery@rhino-redo

1-week review after removing Gore-Sili + septal extension

Previous post: link

I got my splint + stitches removed today

My nose had septal extension with Gore-Sili + septal cartilage, and after removing everything, I heard they reused the septal cartilage, did cartilage repositioning? and tied the alar cartilages with dissolvable sutures

Only the photo on the left is my operated nose, and the rest are all after removal! The tape is on the incision area of the removal nose, so please keep that in mind The operated nose was really pretty at first.. but I think it gradually changed starting about 5 years ago.. The side view was okay, but the implant gradually bent to the left, and the septal extension also bent to the left with it, so my nostrils were uneven.. From the front, my nostrils looked triangularㅠㅠ As my skin got thinner, it became so obvious that there was something inside my nose I didn’t have cartilage stacked at the nasal tip, but it was extremely hard and the tip also kept getting pointier

After removal, my nostrils became rounder, symmetry improved to some extent, and the pinched-nose feeling disappeared The nasal tip that was hard is still hard, but it doesn’t feel hard like an operated nose If you ask whether it’s similar to my original nose.. I don’t have photos of my original nose, so I don’t know Maybe because of swelling, it’s a third kind of nose between my original nose and operated nose People asked whether breathing became easier, but even with my operated nose, breathing wasn’t that uncomfortable for me, so I think it’s hard to compare whether it got easierㅠㅠ Also, I have a lot of nasal discharge right now, so I don’t think that would helpㅜㅜ sorry

They showed me a photo of the implant removed today There was something white in a straight ㅡ shape on the nasal bridge that I could feel and that was very visible, and I thought it was calcified, but it turned out the Gore-Tex part of the implant had folded and protruded like that.. At one hospital during consultation, they were certain, saying it was 100% calcified and siliconeㅋㅋ but I felt there’s no such thing as 100% unless they open it up... There was a hospital during consultations that said it seemed to be because the implant was crumpled, so I had expected it somewhat

Anyway, it hurt less and swelled less than the first surgery, so I don’t think it was that uncomfortable. Except for the runny nose constantly flowing There is still swelling on the nasal bridge, but I can feel that it has gone downㅠ Still, I feel more relieved than anything, so I’m satisfied

I’ll delete the photos later!
