I’ll write casually in a shortened style.
I was scared of side effects, so open surgery was absolutely out of the question for me.
So while searching for a hospital specializing in closed rhinoplasty, I found this clinic and visited without hesitation for a consultation.
When you first visit the clinic, the director performs a nasal endoscopy first.
If problems like hypertrophic rhinitis or a deviated septum are found, he recommends doing rhinitis surgery together.
Looking at other reviews, some doctors apparently get angry when patients ask questions,
but the director here answered every single question I asked, which I really liked.
But when I asked even overly detailed questions, he did seem a little tiredㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ
Anyway
The reasons I chose the clinic were ① it was a clinic where bulbous nose correction was possible with a closed approach, and ② it was a clinic that could use surgical techniques like cartilage repositioning and cartilage suturing without septal extension grafting or a cartilage support strut.
Dr. Jeon Seong-ha is genuinely a doctor who can perform nasal tip surgery without a strut or extension graft.
I’m confident you can feel the difference if you check the before-and-after photos above.
However, there are things you need to accept.
If the lower lateral cartilage at the nasal tip is relatively small, it is hard to expect a dramatic effect.
That is because if the cartilage you were born with is small, there are limits to repositioning it.
And if the skin is thick, no matter how much the cartilage is repositioned, it gets buried under the thick skin, so it is also hard to expect much effect.
But this is the same at any clinic, so I don’t think it can really be called a drawback of this clinic specifically.
<Reasons I recommend this clinic>
1. Most rhinoplasty procedures are possible with a closed approach
With open surgery, the columella is incised, so there are risks you have to accept, such as columellar asymmetry, scarring, depression, and scar tissue.
With closed surgery, it is safe to think those risks are absent.
Because there is no incision there in the first place.
2. Surgery such as cartilage repositioning and cartilage suturing is possible without a strut
If a nasal tip cartilage strut is used, movement of the lower lateral cartilage is restricted, so the nose does not feel soft and pliable when you touch it.
But Dr. Jeon Seong-ha has the skill to reposition the lower lateral cartilage and suture it with thread even without a strut, so those drawbacks are not present.
3. Aesthetics and function can be addressed at the same time
I used to have severe nasal congestion, but after receiving submucosal resection of the inferior turbinate, the nasal congestion disappeared.
It is not a surgery that cures allergic rhinitis itself,
so I still have a runny nose and sneeze, but at least my nose does not get blocked.
Also, during the process of correcting the deviated septum, part of the septal cartilage is harvested, and the fact that it can be used to raise the nasal tip is a huge advantage.
Maybe because it is autologous cartilage, I have had no side effects so far.
4. It is a one-director system
Unlike other clinics, only Dr. Jeon Seong-ha is there, so there is no need to worry about a shadow doctor.
5. This could be an advantage or a disadvantage, but the surgery is performed only under local anesthesia.
So if you are easily frightened, I recommend another clinic. Still, there is an advantage. Because you are conscious from beginning to end during surgery, there is no need to worry about a medical accident.
6. Even though autologous cartilage was inserted into the nasal tip, it is soft.
Because the lower lateral cartilage was not fixed with a strut, I can make a pig nose,
and if I press it with my hand, the nasal tip moves freely in the direction I press.
Lastly, I am very satisfied with the surgical result.
My nasal congestion was resolved, and my previously compressed nostrils also changed into an oval shape.
It looks so natural that people seeing me for the first time would not notice unless I first come out and say I had plastic surgery.
If you want to resolve nasal congestion while pursuing a natural result, I think this clinic is better.
I do not recommend it for people who want an obvious and glamorous look.
