More than 10 years ago, I only had buried sutures done, and the line is still holding up well, but my right eye opens less, a double crease has formed at the inner corner, and the front line on both sides is getting swallowed in, making the asymmetry worse, so I’m looking into revision surgeryㅠ
I’m torn because the consultation details at the places I visited while shopping around were all different. I’d really appreciate valuable opinions from sharp-eyed everyone here on whether I should choose one of these places if possible, or go for more consultations.
1. ㅇㅇㅂ (Gangnam-gu Office) single-doctor clinic - Non-incisional ptosis correction + buried sutures on both sides for an in-out line. The eye asymmetry is progressing. Because the fascia is congenitally weak, it appears more asymmetrical. - Eyes that absolutely need ptosis correction. - Did not recommend epicanthoplasty. Local anesthesia after sleep sedation.
2. ㅁㅅㄹㅇ - Incisional ptosis correction - The consultation was kinder and more fact-focused than expected. - My current eye condition is okay. The doctor who did the first surgery did a good job. Other people don’t really notice the eye asymmetry, and it’s something I personally care about, so I should lower my expectations for surgery. - I need to understand that there are limits to improvement because of facial asymmetry itself, and because the space between my eyes and eyebrows is narrow, I can’t make the eyes bigger or raise the line too aggressively. The line would be placed slightly above my current buried-suture line, and made to show as much as possible starting from the inner eye. No sleep sedation, local anesthesia. - It’s hard to find reviews for this place and the ratings are worse than expected. I wondered if it was because the doctor is so brutally honest, but they actually explained my eye issues in more detail than I expected.
3. ㅇㅍ (ㅇㅈㅇ) - Incision, slight recommendation for upper epicanthoplasty (ptosis correction optional) - They were kind and looked closely in detail, and the ratings here and there are good too, so I’m considering it. However, the app reviews were not really the look I wanted.
4. ㄸㅋ (ㄱㅎㅅ) - In-out non-incisional + slight recommendation for upper epicanthoplasty. Ptosis correction unnecessary. - For now, they recommended organizing the line like this, then getting a forehead lift later. Since the space between my eyes and eyebrows is narrow and my forehead is also narrow, a lift could be effective. The 1, 2, and 3 lines they held were all okay, and I chose line 2, which is slightly higher than my current one. The cost was more expensive than expected. - They were kind, but compared with other places, it felt a bit less detailed. I heard they are meticulous when actually operating.
5. ㅋㅇㅍㄹㅅ (ㄱㅅㅇ) - They were extremely kind and looked in detail, and recommended a brow lift + just one stitch of buried suture at each inner eye. - They said the space between my eyes and eyebrows is narrow, and it’s not fat but the skin that has sagged a bit, so it would be good to define the inner eye line a little and do a brow lift. They looked at my face in detail, but I’m wondering if it might still be a little early for a brow lift. If that’s the case, I wonder if a forehead lift later would be better. On top of that, they also recommended doing fat grafting around the cheekbone area together, which I hadn’t thought of, so I’m considering going for another consultation.
Overall, everyone was kind and the consultations were decent, but I’m wondering if doctors with longer careers may be stable yet a bit lacking in a trendy sense. Since the consultation details all differ slightly, it’s even harder to choose. Especially the part about ptosis correctionㅠ Places I’m thinking of additionally visiting are ㅅㅅ, ㄱㄹㅂ (ㅂㅈㅊ), ㅇㄷㅍ (Apgujeong), and ㄱㄴ..
I’d be grateful if you could tell me whether there are any places here I should filter out, or share any opinions at all about the consultation details or hospitals above! ㅠ
