Hello. I had silicone that was over 20 years old removed, and today I came back after having the splint and stitches removed. It was mentally so difficult, but this community had the most reviews and was the most active, so I got a lot of help. That is why I am writing a review too. I plan to delete the photos soon. I have not been able to wash my face for several days, so I am sorry about the pores and sebum in the after photos.
I had kept it without any problems for over 20 years, but recently I felt a tingling at the tip of my nose, pain when wearing a mask, and when lying on my side it felt like my nose might spill to the side, so I became anxious and made a consultation appointment at a clinic. After the consultation, thankfully there was no inflammation or side effect, but on CT the silicone was touching the skin at the nasal tip, so they gave the opinion that it would be better to remove it. So I scheduled surgery and had it removed. Because of work, I had to have surgery and recover as quickly as possible, so I could not visit many clinics. If you have time, I think it would be better to go for consultations at several places before deciding.
As for the shape of my nose, it has become lower and wider for now, but there is still swelling, so I think it is too early to judge right now. Since there is no foreign material inside my nose, I feel at ease. I hope the shape does not change much from here and only the nasal congestion improves.
I hope those of you who are going through emotional stress receive good consultations and treatment, and that your surgeries go well.
