I was born with very bulky calves, so the first thing I tried was calf injections at [Clinic A] in Apgujeong. It was about 1.3 million won for four sessions (the price was honestly excessive; if I could turn back time, I would absolutely not do it). They said the baseline was eight sessions, then the results were minimal, then said more would be better, so I spent far too much money and had a major reality check. I was too scared to get liposuction despite paying that much, but then wondered whether it made sense to pay that money for injections. Going back and forth to the clinic every two weeks for over a year exhausted me, so I decided to try liposuction. After doing a lot of research, I am leaving a review of [Clinic B], which I liked the most personally. It is an early-generation clinic with one surgeon. I saw reviews saying the surgeon was meticulous, so I took leave and went as if it were my last hope. I was ready for liposuction. The facility is not shiny and glamorous like trendy new clinics. When you first enter, people are seated in a row at the counter, and there is no click-clack of heels or tablet chart-filling atmosphere. Instead, it had the reassuring feel of long experience—like they compete on skill. I instinctively felt it was a highly skilled place. I arrived, completed the chart, changed into the shorts they gave me, had an InBody measurement, and entered the doctor's room. At large or factory-style clinics, it is usually a coordinator consultation, then “the doctor will probably tell you the same thing,” then a three-minute doctor consultation. Here, though, the doctor sat with me one-on-one and examined every aspect of my leg lines in detail while consulting me… In more than 30 years of my life, having a doctor examine each part of my calves and consult with me for over 30 minutes? I was genuinely moved. I had not even decided on surgery; it was only a consultation… Yet they spent this much time on me… I went in thinking my calf-muscle bulges also had a lot of fat, without enough objective perspective, but the doctor explained the calf muscles and told me not to waste any more money on them. I actually appreciated the blunt facts. In the end, the doctor pinpointed the outer-fat line around my ankles and said it could be refined with mini liposuction. Rather than promising to remove everything indiscriminately, the doctor clearly separated where to remove and where not to remove, which immediately inspired trust. Since it is a mini procedure, there is almost no pain, and the doctor casually said I could resume daily activities, yoga, and stretching from the next day. The doctor had completed the body-shape analysis and blunt reality check, so I naturally ended up setting a surgery date with the coordinator. The coordinator was kind too and said only what was necessary, which I really liked. You know what I mean, right? Okay, okay—that kind of feeling. Even when I asked questions endlessly through KakaoTalk, replies came immediately... (Thank you T_T) Plus, there was no pressure or unnecessary sales pitch at all, so I felt very comfortable. If you want an objective, blunt assessment from an ethical doctor without overtreatment and want a reality check, I recommend going for a consultation!
