On May 29, I had secondary medial canthoplasty + 3WAY lateral canthoplasty at Barabon Plastic Surgery. I had undergone surgery on the inner corners before, so this time the medial canthoplasty was a revision, and I had surgery on the outer corners as well. From immediately after surgery through the first week, there were a few more inconveniences in daily life than I had expected haha. Since there were stitches at both the inner and outer corners, I felt a slight pulling sensation when moving my eyes as usual, and because the stitches were visible, I was also a little self-conscious when going out. In particular, my stitches were visibly long on the outer side, so for the first few days I had trouble getting used to seeing them every time I looked in the mirror lol. Still, I gradually got used to it as time passed. Around the third day after surgery, I woke up and the whites of my eyes were very red, and there was swelling in the conjunctiva as well. The redness did not disappear immediately and remained for several days. The stitches on the medial canthoplasty side were removed first on day three. When they were removed, the lacrimal-gland area was irritated, so my eyes kept watering. 😂 Still, once they were removed, the inner-corner area was much more comfortable. Perhaps because both the inner and outer corners were operated on, there was an overall pulling sensation, but other than that, there were no symptoms that concerned me greatly. It is still only the first week, so swelling remains and the shape of my eyes has not fully settled yet. I plan to wait a little longer for the result. Thinking about it now, I think going out and living normally while the stitches were in was the most inconvenient part, rather than the surgery itself. Since the medial canthoplasty was a revision, I will keep watching how the inner corners settle, and for the 3WAY lateral canthoplasty, how the eye shape changes over time, then write about it in my next review :)
