Nose Surgery Reviews

Bulbous-nose surgery + hump-nose correction all at once!!!! My first rhinoplasty review

When I was young, I thought I was only worried because my nose was low, but after gathering photos, it felt like the problem was the shape rather than the height... lol T_T. My rounded, spread-looking bulbous nose and slight hump created a step on the nasal bridge, and as I got older, I increasingly wanted surgery^^.... I thought that if I had rhinoplasty, I should definitely consult about both bulbous-nose surgery and hump-nose correction! Since it was my first rhinoplasty, I was even more careful T_T. Reviews said swelling from bulbous-nose surgery can last a long time and shaping the line can be difficult, so I became scared for no reason... T_T... I also worried that it might not show enough...

Still, it kept bothering me to postpone it, and I told myself that since I had decided on surgery, I should not back out, lol. While researching clinics, I looked separately at reviews of bulbous-nose surgery and searched extensively for before-and-after photos of hump-nose correction T_T. Then I saw a review of [Clinic A] in an online community and wanted to go, so I think that was when I started visiting clinics, lol.

I narrowed it down to about three or four well-known clinics and visited them all. [Clinic A] was my final appointment, and the moment I met Dr. Han, I had the immediate feeling: Ah... I can have rhinoplasty, lol. I think people who have had surgery will relate, lol.

At the consultation, I even referred to celebrity photos and carefully explained my concerns about my nose. Dr. Han said that simply raising the height of my nose could instead emphasize the blunt appearance of my nasal tip. The consultation took quite a while, so I was glad I came last, lol T_T. In the end, at [Clinic A], I decided to refine the line with silicone and also secure support using donor rib cartilage~~!!

What stayed with me most was what the doctor said during the consultation: bulbous-nose surgery is not necessarily about making the nasal tip sharp, but about reducing the areas that look spread out to suit the face T_T. On surgery day, I was not particularly nervous. The doctor checked everything carefully until right before surgery and was very kind, so I was very grateful T_T. They also limit the number of surgeries per day, so it felt as though they were truly focusing only on me, haha. That was one of the reasons I chose [Clinic A], lol.

After I woke from anesthesia, my mouth was dry and I was very sleepy, but the staff came by and took good care of me, so it was better than expected even though I thought I would be out of it! After waking from anesthesia, my nose felt tightly blocked inside and throbbed, but it was not unbearable... haha. When I looked in the mirror, I could not properly see the shape because of the taping, and I was dying of curiosity, lol. I could feel swelling around my nose and face, and my mouth kept drying out because I had to breathe through it T_T. Still, I felt better than expected, so I was able to rest without overdoing it T_T.

Honestly, before surgery, I worried that doing both bulbous-nose correction and hump-nose correction would be too much and might look conspicuous T_T. But in conclusion, my nose turned out so, so pretty... It is stable now, but I do not think all the swelling has gone down yet. Reviews say it continues to decrease until around six months, so I will wait, haha. Looking straight on used to stress me out completely because of my bulbous nose, but now the nasal tip has been beautifully refined and the step is gone, so I am extremely satisfied whether viewed from below or from the side T_T.

Since it was my first rhinoplasty, I worried it might not suit me, but thankfully it fits my face better than I expected, haha. I think the doctor considered the proportions with my other features very well, haha. The effect of the hump-nose correction is especially clear in profile, lol. Before, the middle of my nasal bridge protruded slightly, making the line look interrupted, but now that step has been smoothed out and it looks much sleeker T_T.

Having both bulbous-nose surgery and hump-nose correction at once as my first rhinoplasty has been more satisfying than I expected, haha. This experience really made me realize that even if the nasal bridge is not low, a blunt nasal tip or a step on the nasal bridge can make the overall nasal line look stuffy... T_T. Now I can look at both front-facing and profile photos much more comfortably than before, and friends say my nose surgery was a success and compliment how pretty it is, asking where I had it done, so I feel proud, lol.

What I learned from having rhinoplasty myself is that it is important to clearly communicate your own standards during the consultation T_T. Dr. Han immediately understood the look I wanted and explained separately what was and was not possible, which helped me a lot in deciding on surgery, haha. I hope everyone finds a doctor who suits them and has a successful nose surgery like mine~~!!
