My first surgery was a double-eyelid suture procedure. At first, the crease was distinct and looked fine, so I was satisfied. But as time passed, the crease on one side gradually became faint, and eventually my two eyes looked so different, as if the double eyelid had come undone T_T.
With only one side remaining ambiguously, it bothered me every time I took photos...
At first, I thought revision would only require recreating the crease. But when I actually researched revision surgery and visited several places for consultations, there were more things to consider than I expected.
How was the crease created in the first surgery? What is the current condition of adhesions and skin? Why does one side appear to have come undone first?
When I heard the explanations, I realized it was not simply a matter of doing the exact same thing again.
Rather than making the crease dramatically high, I wanted both creases to look similar and settle naturally on my eyes. The place that discussed that direction realistically stayed with me the most. They went over, one by one, the parts I had found disappointing with my first suture procedure, and considered both the eyes I wanted and the current state of my eyes. That was why I decided on this place.
I had it redone, and it is already two months now, lol. Early on, there were days when the two sides looked different again because of swelling, so I stared in the mirror constantly, genuinely worried it might come undone again T_T. If the creases looked even slightly different, I would search online for no reason, lol.
But after about two months, much of the swelling had gone down compared with the beginning, and I could see the creases gradually settling. I still need to watch it longer, but now the difference between the two sides is less noticeable than before, which is reassuring.
Before, even after double-eyelid surgery, I was stressed because of the crease on one side. Now, when I open my eyes, the creases look more similar than before, so I am satisfied T_T.
