What I felt during the consultation was, first of all, that they were very professional. Rather than only saying positive things or strongly recommending surgery, they objectively assessed the condition of my eyes and spoke realistically. The overall consultation also felt somewhat conservative, and they honestly explained not only the advantages but also the difficult aspects and limitations, which actually inspired trust. However, perhaps because my eyes are what people call “extreme-case eyes” (?), I did not hear as many positive things during the consultation as I expected. Rather than saying something optimistic like, “They can definitely turn out beautifully,” they explained more about what would be difficult given my current eye condition and what I should be careful about. I was a little disappointed at first, but thinking about it, realistic explanations may be better than only hearing hopeful things before surgery. I had heard so much that this was a highly skilled place that I had expectations even before the consultation. After consulting in person, I think I understand to some extent why it has that reputation. You cannot determine the surgical outcome from a consultation alone, but I appreciated that they assessed me professionally without seeming overly sales-driven. I am still deliberating, but I plan to compare several more places before deciding. Personally, if you prefer realistic explanations and a conservative approach over a consultation that flamboyantly promotes only its strengths, it may be worth having a consultation here at least once.
