I was born without eight molars, so I had few molars and severe malocclusion. I tried to manage it with orthodontic treatment alone. But as I got older, the orthodontic treatment never seemed to end, and I went from dental clinic to dental clinic after being told there might not be enough space or jawbone even for implants. This time, after changing orthodontic clinics, I was advised to have surgery and received a recommendation. I consulted at several places, but the director at [Clinic A] was the kindest during my consultation, so I made up my mind. As the saying goes, wording makes all the difference; I heard the same things at other hospitals, but the director here explained them kindly. On the day of surgery, it hurt after I woke up from anesthesia, but from the second day it was more tolerable than I expected. Since it was such a major surgery, I had been full of worries after reading many reviews, but those worries proved unnecessary. Unlike others, my surgery involved bringing my jaw forward, and I was told that it might be a little more comfortable, which reassured me. Starting on the third day, breathing really became easier, and people were surprised because my facial swelling was less than in other review photos. From the fifth day, I could eat regular food if I cut it into small pieces. I was told to eat well for a faster recovery, so I made sure to eat regular meals from the seventh day. Moving my face and jaw while eating seemed to help the facial swelling go down even more. I tend to worry a lot, so I consistently used the compresses and wore the wafer at home as the director instructed. At first my jaw seemed like it wanted to move back in, but now it projects well like other people's. Before surgery, my jaws collided when I chewed, making a squeaking sound. After surgery, my molars meet instead, so I no longer hear that sound. I used to snore a lot before surgery, but now I rarely snore unless I am extremely tired. Sometimes my wife even checks whether I am breathing, haha. I am extremely satisfied with the surgery.
