I am the daughter who visited seven places for consultations while looking into my mom’s revision surgery. My mom had a facelift elsewhere eight years ago. She was satisfied at the time, but says things have descended again now. What concerns her most is her neck. Five out of the seven places responded that it could simply be done again. Here, they first explained that revision surgery is more difficult to assess and requires careful dissection because the boundaries between tissue planes have become unclear. They asked us to bring records if we had any of where and how the previous procedure was done, and they also examined her old scar sites directly. I could feel that the level of detail was different. After looking at my mom’s neck, they said the vertically visible bands result from structural changes in separated muscles, so tightening the skin alone would not correct them. But at the end, they said this was not something to rush, and suggested deciding after checking once more how well the previous surgical area had settled. This was the first place that did not tell us to decide on the same day.
