Since I live in Busan, I went to consultations at a relaxed pace for almost a year, fitting them in whenever I had reason to visit Seoul.
My biggest concern was my upturned nose with visible nostrils. I had nostril lowering done, but it went back up again.
1. [Clinic A] 2025/8/4 Nostril lowering is possible, but it would lengthen the nose, so my impression could look different from now. I would need to accept that I may look older, though it could give a more refined look. They did not particularly recommend it.
2. [Clinic B] 2025/12/9 My current nose shape is not that bad. The starting point of the nasal bridge is in an unattractive position, so they could lower it and refine the shape in a better direction, but the change would not be dramatic relative to the cost. They could operate, but said it was not worth investing that much money and did not recommend it.
3. [Clinic C] 2026/9/1 My nostrils are triangular, and scar tissue is a mess because the nostril-lowering material was placed in a superficial layer inside. They said it would be good to lower the upturned nostrils, and that they could lower them without lengthening the nose too much.
4. [Clinic D] 2023/2/15, 2025/1/14 Since this would be a second nostril-lowering procedure and there was nothing more to lower, surgery was not possible. They said some nostril show is necessary at this level and that they could not operate.
After searching for clinics for such a long time, I decided to have surgery at [Clinic C]. I had already undergone nostril lowering once because of my nostrils, but my satisfaction was low. Since it is a difficult procedure, I felt clinics could not confidently say they would do it. (Just my personal opinion.)
As soon as I entered [Clinic C], it felt less like a plastic-surgery clinic and more like a long-established workshop run by a master. I liked that it did not feel like a large factory-style clinic, but rather a private practice, and there was no wait.
I consulted with the head surgeon for over an hour. Honestly, I had never seen a place where the head surgeon consulted for that long. They seemed truly devoted to rhinoplasty—almost more interested in my nose than I was? Such passion? It felt like meeting a master of a field for the first time in a while.
I am extremely cautious, so I spent almost a year going to consultations at a relaxed pace. But after this consultation, it took only about two days to make up my mind and book.
I received clear, specific explanations of what my problems were, what needed to be done, and what the limits were. I saw videos as well as before-and-after photos. I had hesitated to decide because of photo editing in before-and-after pictures these days, but they showed me videos too. And they showed me photos from five years later, not just one or two years later. My nose really looked different after one year, two years, and three years. I decided because I felt trust and a good feeling about this clinic!!
