Maybe because I had heard so much that they were conservative before going, but rather than leaving every choice to the patient, they just seem honest. They did not recommend autologous costal cartilage or dermis at all. They said silicone is best if you are adding material for shape, and that even if you use something else, there is a high chance you will eventually have revision surgery with silicone anyway (I largely agree). The consultant also said that unless silicone perforates and comes out, it is all for cosmetic purposes, so there is no urgently needed removal surgery right now.. They would remove the silicone and capsule, use as much of the autologous cartilage previously used in the nasal tip as possible, and if necessary could use ear cartilage too. They said the nose would definitely become lower, and therefore look spread out. If you are not going to use dermis for the bridge, I think it would be a good choice.
