Clinic Review

I deliberated a lot over rhinoplasty and visited about six places. As an operating-room nurse at a university hospital (with rhinoplasty scrub experience), my personal priority for surgery is safety first and safety second. I thought this clinic aligned best with that, paid the deposit, and it has been 10 days since my surgery. My nose was short and somewhat upturned; septal cartilage plus donated costal cartilage were used. The surgeon said I could choose between donated and autologous costal cartilage, and because this was my first surgery, I chose donated costal cartilage. What made me think the surgeon operates very neatly was that there was almost no bleeding after surgery, and therefore almost no swelling or bruising. They seem to be very good at hemostasis during surgery and highly skilled. I liked that no nasal packing was placed after surgery, but swollen mucous membranes made breathing uncomfortable for about 4–5 days. I still have a runny nose at day 10, but it is clear nasal discharge and does not interfere with daily life. Personally, on a 0–10 scale, I would rate my swelling a 2, so there was very little swelling. Even on the day the splint was removed, it looked fairly natural, and now it barely looks like I had cosmetic surgery. The aspects of my nose that I was dissatisfied with have improved naturally but clearly, so I am very satisfied. However, I would not recommend it to those seeking a dramatic look. I am satisfied with my current nasal shape, but because donated costal cartilage was used, I pray every day that it will not be absorbed. In my case, I can say there are no functional complications. Anyway, I am sure Dr. Lee Jeong-woo is truly a very skilled surgeon!
