Surgical methods: zygoma reduction and superior repositioning, square-jaw (mandibular angle) resection, and chin advancement. My lateral zygomas and 45-degree zygomas were both prominent, making my face look broad. In every photo, my face looked too angular and wide from the front and at a 45-degree angle. My protruding zygomas also made my impression look stern, and my prominent square jaw made my face look large from the side and even made my mouth appear protruded. Because of these concerns, I had been deliberating over facial contouring surgery for years. I watched many related YouTube videos and clinic reviews, and then a Sures Plastic Surgery video appeared in my YouTube recommendations, so I think I watched nearly every video they had uploaded. From the videos, I felt that the doctor's aesthetic sense was outstanding, and that he considered not only the cosmetic outcome of surgery but also the sagging that often follows facial contouring surgery. I thought this was the only place for me and booked a consultation. I did wait a little long when I went for the preoperative consultation, but I was very satisfied with the consultation. Reducing my zygomas was my top priority, square-jaw reduction was second, and I considered chin work optional. But the doctor said chin advancement should be the first priority, zygoma reduction second, and that square-jaw surgery could be done or not done. When I asked whether bringing my chin forward might make my face look longer and larger, he showed before-and-after photos of patients and helped me understand intuitively. I had no specific celebrity face shape in mind, so I trusted the doctor's aesthetic sense and told him to do what he thought was best. I also deliberated over the square jaw, but I prefer a slim jaw over an angular one, so I decided to do it. Until postoperative day 3, I could not sleep or wash my face because of the swelling. Above all, the surgical sites inside my mouth hurt a lot. But if I endured for exactly one week, the overall pain eased considerably afterward. By around two weeks, most of the major swelling had subsided, and although there was still substantial internal swelling, I could clearly see the overall facial changes. It has now been about two months since surgery, and I can feel my once-blunt face gradually revealing its contours. I could clearly feel that my zygomas had moved inward, and their upward repositioning seems to have improved the balance. With the square jaw gone, the width of my lower face from the front also seems to have decreased a little. More than anything, I love my profile. As the doctor said, I realized the importance of the chin: with my chin brought forward, my protruding mouth truly looks as though it has receded. I also love the line connecting my slim jaw and chin. These days, people around me often say my impression has improved and that the surgery looks natural without being obvious, so I am living very happily with the result. I think there is still some swelling left, and the doctor says it will improve further, so I am looking forward to it. I deliberated over this for a very long time, and many people around me strongly discouraged me, saying bone surgery was dangerous and had severe side effects, but I truly think I did well to follow my own conviction.
