It has been two months since my rhinoplasty using autologous costal cartilage! I also had alar reduction at the same time.
Thankfully, the pain after surgery was not severe. When I heard autologous costal cartilage would be used, I was worried the pain and recovery would be very difficult, but once I had it done, it did not hurt that much and I was able to get home fine.
Of course, there were uncomfortable parts at first, but daily life was not as difficult as I had expected. I am satisfied because the shape of my nose is gradually becoming more natural over time. Maybe because I had alar reduction too, my nose looks cleaner and more refined than before, and I think my overall impression has changed from both the side and front!
I am still recovering, so I need to wait longer for the final result, but so far I am satisfied with the outcome. I think many people considering rhinoplasty with autologous costal cartilage worry about pain or scars, but it might be more manageable than you expect, as it was for me!
I deliberated over autologous costal cartilage a lot, but now I only think I did an incredibly good job choosing it!!!! Even if I could go back in time, I would absolutely get rhinoplasty with autologous costal cartilage!!!
