SMILE Pro review

There was a huge variety of vision-testing machines, and one optometrist stayed with me throughout the examinations and consultations. Before surgery, my prescription was about -3.25 in both eyes, and my pupils were 8.1 mm, which is fairly large. The examination also showed that I had quite severe dry eye, and they said that if I had surgery in that condition, my vision might not recover properly. They told me to treat the dry eye first, so I received IPL. A little over a month later, I returned for a checkup; they said it had improved a lot, so I scheduled the surgery. I had various additional eye examinations and consulted the doctor about twice in total. At the end, the doctor checked my prescription again for quite a long time. I went to the operating room, washed my face, had anesthetic eye drops applied, had the area around my eyes disinfected, and lay on the operating table. They told me to take deep breaths, but I was so nervous that they brought me a teddy bear lol. The nurses were extremely kind. They said SMILE Pro would be quick; it seemed to take about 10–15 minutes for both eyes. It was not particularly painful; I just felt that something was being done to my eyes and a pulling sensation. When I came out after surgery, my vision was blurry but I could still see well enough to take the subway home alone. They said there could be pain once the anesthesia wore off, so I was nervous, but for me it hurt less than wearing contact lenses inside out; it just felt like there was something in my eyes. After taking a nap and waking up, I could see clearly and only had slight dryness. The next day, my vision tested at 1.0 and 1.2, and at my checkup a little over a month later, both eyes tested at 1.2. Since I naturally have very large pupils and could not properly look at car headlights or streetlights because of glare, I do not notice any difference in glare between before surgery and now. They also said dryness could worsen after surgery, but mine feels similar to before, or perhaps even better. In any case, it does not feel worse.
