Before <front view before surgery> Before <day 1 after surgery> Before <right before splint removal> Before <the day the splint was removed> Before <recent 1 (after coming back from Vietnam, so my clothes are thin!)> Before <recent 2> I thought it had been about a year, but I was surprised it’s only been 5 months. I’m more satisfied than anyone, to the point that I regret not just getting it done quickly when I was younger.
I had surgery mainly on the nasal tip. I had a severe bulbous nose, and it spread too much when I smiled. Cartilage tying, nasal tip fat removal, and lifting using septal cartilage + ear cartilage. For the nasal bridge, I had lateral osteotomy and used only minimal silicone, about 2 mm. At the time I thought, “Wow, the swelling is going down really fast!?” but looking at it now, I was walking around with quite a lot of fullnessㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ It’s still going down even now. Even now, at certain moments, my nose looks like it’s getting a little smaller bit by bit. It’s fascinating.
Day of surgery (Friday) I took a half-day off work, and my guardian was my younger sister. I didn’t eat anything, and if I got too thirsty, I just moistened my mouth. Right after surgery, I ate pork cutlet curry. It was good.
Recovery period After surgery on Friday, I rested for Saturday and Sunday, and because work was so busy, I just went to work on Monday with the splint on. I ate everything I wanted, but it was so dry that I kept holding a humidifier under my nose. For my hair, I washed it wearing a sponge hair cap? that keeps water from touching the ears, and I think I washed it about once every two days. For washing my face, I survived with wet wipes and toner pads no matter what... I even went to meetings looking like that, haha..
Hospital visits Because the hospital operates on Saturdays too, I had the cotton removed on Saturday, the splint removed the next Saturday, and the stitches removed the Saturday after that, like that. Every Saturday I changed little by littleㅋㅋㅋㅋ The waiting time wasn’t very long, and I got a swelling injection once, then refused it after that.
The downside is maybe that my youngest sibling is 8 and keeps asking me to make a pig nose and play, but I can’t play along?ㅋㅋㅋㅋ Maybe my nasal mucous membrane hasn’t fully recovered yet, but my snoring has gotten a bit worse. I think I get more boogers tooㅠ
