A surgery-day review I’m writing so I can remember
1:20 appointment, arrived at the hospital 1:35 wrote the surgical consent form in the consultation room with the manager It felt a bit like a reading contest, they read the consent form exactly as written at machine-gun speed and I signed underlined parts lol It was just funny (Consent forms are all like that, but it was mostly favorable to the hospital) Explanation on how to disinfect, prescription issued Came out and paid the surgery fee
After waiting, I was shown to the area with the operating room and recovery room Left my belongings in the recovery room, washed my face, then changed clothes Took all the photos in the photography room, and they told me to wait there because they would do the design there. The wait got long, so they guided me back to the recovery room and asked for my understanding because there were many treatment patients
While waiting, they said we should remove my nose hairs first, so I went to have them removed It was insanely painful and annoying. It felt like they were pressing my nose hard while cutting the nasal mucous membrane. When I yelled that it hurt, they said I had more nose hair than other people lol first round of irritation. When I said it hurt, they asked, “Do you have silicone in there???” lol I’m a revision case, did they not look at my chart?? second round of irritation At that point I was so annoyed
They told me to go back to the recovery room and wait It seemed like the place where they had said we’d do the design was being used by another director while seeing another patient and doing a design
Around 2:45, the director sat side by side next to my recovery-room bed and did the design.... This? Here?????... After looking at the chart, they had suddenly said they would use only septal cartilage and ear cartilage, but then said donor rib cartilage might be used Huh?? I came here because they said they mainly use ear cartilage and also use septal cartilage? I don’t want that... I showed a negative reaction They said they would match it as much as possible It felt a little different from what they had said during consultation.. (We had decided to do ~, but ~ may be a little difficult, so we need to do it this way) *****Seeing this, I felt, ah, once you decide on surgery, it would be better to come for one more consultation and confirm everything clearly..
3:00 entered the operating room They tied my arms and legs and connected the IV. I told the nurse my blood vessels are weak and asked her to find one well, and she found it right away without hurting me They taped my face Thinking about it, the director earlier didn’t ask about my alcohol tolerance? So I asked, do you dose the sedative by body weight? Not alcohol tolerance? I haven’t drunk alcohol in 10 years, so please put in only a little sedative....... While waiting, I started getting sleepy. The director didn’t come.. I barely held on, then when the director came, I said one thing, “Please do it safely,” and knocked out Surgery took 3 hours
Two nurses supported me as I walked back to the recovery room, and I was still groggy Apparently I kept saying to my guardian, “I told them I can’t drink alcohol so only put in a little sedative, but I guess those people didn’t tell them, I’m annoyed, I can’t wake up” lol I couldn’t open my eyes (Ah! If you’re going with eyelash extensions, remove them before you go.. The lashes stick to your tears and your eyes won’t open.. My guardian wet a cotton swab and rubbed them so I could open my eyes lol) When I stood up, I was dizzy and the anesthesia wouldn’t wear off The director came and explained things, but whatever they said, I just said yes, yes.. Honestly, I don’t remember clearly. I’ll ask next time I guess The hospital closed at 7, so I hurriedly packed my things and left..
Still, I’m mostly satisfied.. I think I’ll know once the splint comes off If I’m satisfied, I’ll come back to write another review~~
