One-month review of removing a 15-year-old chin silicone implant + chin advancement at Yangyundol Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery / If I did it again, I think I’d choose here again lol

Bottom line first: I am completely satisfied lol. It has only been a month, so the swelling has not fully gone down yet, but among all the surgeries I have had, this is the one I am most satisfied with. What I wanted was not a new chin shape. I had a 15-year-old chin silicone implant that I had put in in my early to mid-20s, and I wanted to remove it now, but I liked my current chin shape, so I wanted to keep that feeling as much as possible. And right now, it is exactly the feeling I wanted. If anything, I used to think my face looked a little long, but now it looks slightly shorter, and it looks much more natural, so up to now I am really very satisfied. I live outside Seoul, so when I came up to Seoul once, I first looked around many hospitals because I wanted to get consultations at several places. The things I cared about when choosing a hospital were professionalism, not being an overly huge hospital, and specializing in oral and maxillofacial surgery, orthognathic surgery, and facial contouring. Then I found Yangyundol Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery... To be honest, at first I was drawn in by the hospital name lol. When I saw the name, I thought, “How confident must they be to name it like this?” so I was really curious. In the end, I did not even make reservations at the other hospitals and visited here first, and now that I think about it, I think I had almost already decided in my heart to do it here even before going lol. I had the consultation on July 21, and there was almost no waiting time. The consultation manager was also very kind. The director listened carefully to what I wanted and explained everything well. And then I... consultation on the 21st -> surgery on the 23rd lol. After looking into hospitals so carefully, once I liked it, I had surgery two days later lol. Honestly, I was more worried about anesthesia than about the surgery itself. I am prone to drug allergies, and I also have a hard time waking up from anesthesia in the first place. They checked this carefully starting from the consultation, and on the day of surgery the anesthesia doctor and the nurses kept reassuring me because I was so worried. But as expected... I am not the kind of person who wakes up gracefully from anesthesia lol. I heard that chin advancement surgery is often done as an outpatient procedure without hospitalization, but because I was having such a hard time, the hospital kept checking on me and then recommended admission, saying it would be difficult for me to go home alone. Looking back now, I am really grateful. If I had gone home like that, I might have collapsed somewhere lol. And from this point on, I think I really started to love this hospital. While I was hospitalized, the nurse kept coming in to check my condition, kept replacing the ice packs, and even when she briefly went to the restroom she said, “Press the button if anything happens.” When you are sick, you just feel extra sad for no reason But they took such careful care of me that I was truly grateful, to the point where I thought, “Do they really look after patients this well?” I was still groggy, so I do not remember the exact time, but around 9 p.m. the surgeon who operated on me also came by briefly to check my condition in person before leaving. It really felt like the whole hospital was united in wishing for my chin’s well-being lol. And another thing that left an impression on me during the hospitalization was the cleaning. When I first went for the consultation, the hospital was underground, and it was raining a lot at the time, so I wondered whether it might be a little humid. But at night they cleaned once, then again, then again... a total of three times just from what I heard lol. I do not know for sure whether it was different companies or the same company split into several rounds, but seeing them keep cleaning until dawn made me think, “Okay... hygiene is not something I need to worry about...” lol. The next day the director checked my condition again and I was discharged safely. When I came back a week later for a follow-up, the staff kept asking how I was doing, and the director explained the surgical progress and how the surgery had been done once more in detail. Even when the stitches were removed two weeks later, I was still worrying to myself, “Why is the swelling not going down as much as I expected?” But when I compared photos, it had gone down a lot lol. I just did not notice because I was seeing my own face every day... And after the stitches were removed, the swelling really went down noticeably. When I went back for the one-month follow-up, everyone was still kind, and I am very happy with the current shape. Honestly, over the years I have had various surgeries and procedures, and there was even a time when I lived like an icon of complications(?) lol, so I am a bit picky about hospitals. There were hospitals where I liked the surgery, but every visit was stressful because of the consultation manager. But at Yangyundol Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, everyone I met was truly wonderful: the consultation manager, the nurses, the anesthesia doctor, and the surgeon who operated on me. And above all, I am extremely happy with the surgical result. My request was to remove the old silicone while keeping as much as possible of the chin feel I had liked before, and I think that was reflected naturally. No! It actually got even prettier ~! I am older now and have no plans for any major surgery like orthognathic or contouring surgery in the future, but if someone asks me to recommend a hospital for oral and maxillofacial surgery or contouring, I really want to recommend this one. And if I could turn back time and choose the hospital again? I would choose here without hesitation lol. Reading this over, it has almost turned into a praise post for Yangyundol Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery lol, but when I think about the care I received at my most difficult moment and the results I have now, I really cannot help feeling deeply grateful. I am truly thankful to the surgeon who did the operation well, the nurses, the consultation manager, and all the staff. I sent off the 15-year-old silicone implant and am now living very happily with my current new(?) chin lol. I hope this review helps even a little for people who are worrying about old chin silicone implants like I was:)
