I’ve been wanting to get my nose done lately, so I came back to a community after a long time and decided to write a review of my facial contouring surgery. I didn’t realize it when I was researching, but I think when surgery goes well, you really don’t end up coming back to places like this much. So I think stories about side effects and dissatisfaction stood out more, and if there aren’t any major problems or worries, you just end up living your own life. (Of course, I think it depends on your personality!)
For reference, I’m absolutely not an ad or broker, and the clinic never asked me to write a review. Even when I tried to negotiate, saying I’d write a review here so could they give me a discount, they said they don’t do that lol That was honestly kind of surprising too.
Most places offered discounts on the condition of writing a review, but this place doesn’t give any discounts at all. They seemed to have fixed prices: 2 procedures were 7 million? 3 procedures were 11 million, I think, and I don’t really remember 1 procedure ㅠㅠ When I got info, it did seem like there could be a 500,000 to 1 million won difference depending on the person, but I’m not sure.
I’m personally so satisfied, and before surgery, I also read reviews of the clinic where I was scheduled to have surgery, which reassured me. Especially the reviews written day by day were truly encouraging. It felt like image training or something... So I’m writing this in case it might help someone.
First of all, when I was going around for consultations, this wasn’t even a clinic I had initially been looking into. It was a clinic I visited almost toward the end after going here and there, but I felt the doctor was the most meticulous. During the consultation, he touched different parts of my face and didn’t just talk about bone; he explained my face overall.
He told me I looked masculine because of certain features, and also said my forehead was wide lol (But since I have sensitive, acne-prone skin, I usually try to avoid touching my face with my hands as much as possible, so that felt a bit uncomfortable ㅠㅠ Still, I thought it was an unavoidable step for an accurate consultation, and the doctor explained everything so passionately that I understood lol)
Anyway, he said it was a shame that I had a masculine-looking image, and told me which areas would show good results and which areas would show less change. It was a pretty brutally honest consultation, so you might get slightly emotionally wounded.. Still, I was grateful,, lol
Among the clinics I visited, the consultation time was the longest, I felt the doctor had a strong sense of responsibility, and his experience couldn’t be ignored, so I thought, wow, this is the place, and booked a date.
The long-awaited surgery day! I arrived at 10, got various instructions, and even until I changed into the surgical gown, I wasn’t nervous at all. Rather than nervous, I think I went in just excited & thrilled, but the moment I lay down on the operating table, I suddenly got extremely nervous…. The anesthesiology director said I was too nervous and that going under anesthesia like this could be dangerous, so once I calmed down a bit, they would slowly start anesthesia. I could really feel my heart pounding, but after hearing the doctor’s words, I tried to relax in my own way, and before I knew it, the surgery was suddenly over.
I was in the recovery room going “uuhhh...” and the anesthesiology director also came to check if I had any discomfort. (I thought, don’t most places not have the anesthesiology director come check on you too? So that was surprising.)
Director Park No-hyuk also kept coming by, asking if I was okay and taking care of me. (During the consultation he was a direct fact-bomber, but at this time he became the warmest person in the world.)
Strangely, I felt almost no surgical pain, but the aftereffects of anesthesia? were actually harder ㅠㅠ It was my first time having general anesthesia… My throat hurt, as expected, and I’m already the type who often gets sore throats/colds, so I was worried.. Just think of it as having a pretty bad throat cold for a few days.
And while recovering, they gave me ice cream and pumpkin porridge. The ice cream was insanely delicious, but because of the compression band, it was so hard to eat~ and my throat hurt lol It was honestly so miserable lolol But I still ate diligently..
Then I was discharged and came home. My condition was better than I’d worried it would be, so I rested a bit at home and went for a walk as soon as the sun went down. (Walks, seriously, very often! I think they definitely help with swelling and recovery, so the more you do, the better.)
On the first day, I felt kind of bad because of the anesthesia, but the next day, that awful anesthesia feeling was gone. The swelling is worse the day after surgery, and even worse the day after that ㅠㅠ
I really went for walks almost every morning and evening, and it’s truly a battle with swelling. It feels like it goes down a lot in the evening, then swells again in the morning lol For all the swelling to go down, I think you have to look at 6 months or more to see the final result.
As for sensation, in the early recovery period, only the left cheekbone area wasn’t coming back well, so I was worried, but now everything has recovered. Strangely, only that side came back late ㅠㅠ
At first, you have to live mostly on liquid foods, so I think eating was harder than pain or anything like that ㅠㅠ I ate a lot of New Care, maybe black sesame flavor or black sesame paste flavor? Anyway, that one. It’s good!!!!
After a week passed, I slowly practiced chewing, and I heard that the first ramen after surgery tastes amazing if you break it into small pieces and cook it, so I was excited, but it was worse than expected ㅠ For me, the first time I soaked castella in milk and ate it was honestly moving beyond words…
I think the bruising lasted about 2 weeks, and my mouth gradually opened more, so food went down well, and I gained weight again.. But I think I recovered well hehe
After about a month, a lot of the swelling goes down, and when I look in the mirror and look at old photos, it feels amazing every time. Comparing my 1-month condition to now, it’s different again. I really think the very, very final result takes about a year.
Oh, and the doctor here is direct and a fact-bomber, so I think some people might feel a little hurt, and I feel like I’ve actually seen people like that, so it would be good to keep that in mind before going.. But when I think about it, everything he said was for my sake, and after surgery he took good care of me, so he gives off tsundere vibes. I think anyone who had surgery here would relate lol
Anyway, I had been living so well that I’d almost forgotten I even had surgery, but sometimes when I remember the surgery, I feel grateful to the doctor who did such a great job, and I also felt thankful to the writers of the reviews I referenced, so lol I rambled on, and it got long as I wrote, so I don’t know who will read this, but..
If you have anything you’re curious about, leave a comment, and I’ll come in occasionally and answer as much as I know!! I hope everyone who is about to have surgery or is planning it has a successful result!!!!
