Two-Jaw Surgery Review

I had a fairly severe protruding lower jaw, so in 2020 I had two-jaw surgery at a well-known dental clinic specializing in two-jaw surgery, whose doctor also has a YouTube channel. Based on the orthodontist’s opinion that I should not have extractions, I proceeded with non-extraction orthodontics and surgery-first treatment. Before surgery, they told me that because it was non-extraction, the amount of jawbone correction could be reduced, and a very slight protruding-jaw appearance might remain. Even so, I thought it would be better to do slightly less rather than force the surgery for cosmetic reasons and suffer side effects. The surgery went very well, and I have no sensory abnormalities or any other side effects at all! But right after surgery, the intermaxillary fixation and not being able to breathe were truly painful.. You also need to allow about 3 months for the major swelling to go down. If you can endure just that, it’s okay. As they had informed me in advance, my lower jaw does protrude slightly, but it’s only noticeable when I look very closely myself, and no one else has ever said I have a protruding lower jaw. Back then, I didn’t even think about visiting multiple clinics and just did it at the first hospital, but since I have a dentist in my family, I later found out that both the orthodontist and the oral surgeon were extremely famous in the dental field for two-jaw surgery. Anyway, I’m satisfied!
