I had nose surgery in March last year, and around 8 months after it, I started gradually developing contracture. It wasn’t noticeably severe, so I was working really hard for several months going to consultations and researching online for revision surgery, but the clinic told me that revision surgery shouldn’t come first in this case, and that I’d likely need to remove the silicone, monitor the progress for 6 months, and then have revision surgery. So I’m on day 2 after removal ! ! It was silicone inflammation, so only the silicone was removed, and the nasal tip cartilage was left as is. Maybe it’s because of the splint, but honestly I can’t really tell that it got that much lower, and there’s hardly any swelling, so I wondered if it varies by person and decided to write this post. My original nose was seriously almost nonexistent, so I was thinking, how am I supposed to wait 6 months after taking out the silicone? But now that it’s actually out, I feel much more at ease thinking that I’m finally free from the inflammation. Everyone who’s having a hard time because of contracture, let’s all hang in there :)

Nose Re-Surgery@rhino-redoApr 29 I’m deciding between Asan and RU! Has anyone had surgery at Asan?ˀ̣
My nose had inflammation, so everything has been removed, and I think there’s still a little inflammation left. Considering that, I feel like Asan might be the right choice, but I’m so torn because I don’t know if the shape will turn out pr
Nose Re-Surgery@rhino-redoApr 29 Can contracture also occur with implant-free autologous costal cartilage?
