In the past, when I had double eyelid surgery, the epicanthoplasty unfortunately ended up being excessive, and a slight hook formed. My eyes were a bit too close together, which was unfortunate, but they were also big and had a sophisticated shape, so it was not a serious case at all.. Therefore, if you are someone whose social life is affected unless you get epicanthoplasty reconstruction, my review may not be helpful.
I simply wanted to become a little prettier, so after thinking about it, I went to a few hospitals for epicanthoplasty restoration, and at one hospital, after seeing the after-surgery appearance with Steri-Strips applied, I decided to have the surgery. The doctor showed me surgical cases and seemed very confident.
The surgery was severely over-restored, so beyond just making my eyes look like small clam-shaped eyes, it truly made social life difficult, and I was depressed. Meanwhile, the consultant had so little interest in the patient that she asked me how many millimeters had been closed. It was honestly unbelievable, to the point where I wondered if she was really a paid employee. The doctor calmly admitted that the surgery had gone wrong. They did not give me a refund and only performed a re-opening surgery 7 months later. Even that re-opening surgery was such a mess that other doctors criticized it. This doctor did the surgery just to make 2.5 million won, but I lost the chance to live with my previous slightly flawed but pretty eyes, and I feel lost about how I am supposed to live with these ugly eyes that are difficult to revise.
I was not a case that should have had epicanthoplasty restoration at this hospital, but the doctor confidently showed me by applying Steri-Strips, and I lost the opportunity to think really seriously about this surgery.
The reason I am writing this is because epicanthoplasty restoration is a surgery that requires much more caution than you might think. The place I went to was one of the places famous in this cafe for epicanthoplasty restoration. I am writing this because I hope there will be no other unfortunate person like me who tries to fix just a little and ends up with a ruined double eyelid line + rounded inner eye corners + restoration scars, giving them frog-like eyes… Please do not be swayed by hospitals, and make sure to weigh the pros and cons carefully before deciding on surgery!!!!!!!
Additional note: Seeing the comments, I realize I was not the only one who suffered at this hospital… It truly breaks my heart Many hospitals were mentioned in the comments, so I will write this to avoid causing harm. The hospital where I had surgery was not ㅁㅇㅌ, ㅇㅅㅇ, ㅅㅅ, ㄹㅍㄹ, ㅈㅇㅈㅇ, ㅈㅇ, ㅇㅇ, ㄷㅂㅇ, ㅊㅇ, ㅅㅇ, ㅂㅌ, or ㅇㄹㅇ. It is not a hospital known for good double eyelid surgery, nor one known for good epicanthoplasty, so I hope you do not get too anxious thinking the place where I had surgery must be the hospital you are considering. The place I went to was a hospital that was promoting itself for epicanthoplasty restoration, and the purpose of this post is to say that epicanthoplasty is not a surgery that simply improves by closing the area, and because it is an area that is hard to keep operating on, I hope people do not take it lightly.
