Cutting to the chase, a few days ago I had micro epicanthoplasty restoration + lateral and lower canthoplasty together I ended up having surgery at a one-doctor clinic famous for epicanthoplasty restoration after searching online and visiting consultations
The procedure was done under brief sedation followed by local anesthesia, and after the sedation wore off, I just couldn’t feel anything, but I was almost fully conscious during the surgery and blinked my eyes exactly as instructed
The surgery was done in the order of epicanthoplasty restoration, then lateral and lower canthoplasty. While doing the lateral and lower canthoplasty, during the conjunctival incision, I heard a sizzling sound from the laser burning, and while doing it, the doctor accidentally burned my eyelid. At that moment it stung a little It’s terrifying to think what would have happened if they had burned my eyeball instead of my eyelid
I was extremely flustered, but I was afraid the surgery might go wrong, so I stayed still without saying anything until it was over I remember everything, including the doctor being startled like “oops” and applying saline-soaked gauze to stop the bleeding
As soon as the surgery ended, the doctor only said that because I moved during the surgery, I got a wound on my eyelid, and that if I diligently applied DuoDERM it wouldn’t scar Then I was discharged in a daze, and even now, a week later, the wound is red and I’m worried it will scar
So when I visited again to have the stitches removed and said I remembered what happened during the surgery, the doctor made excuses saying it happened because I moved when I was under sedation, and denied it, saying they didn’t even have any memory of making such a mistake
During the consultation, the clinic was so honest and kind, and I chose it because they said the aftercare was good. The doctor I thought was meticulous kept lying to the end and blamed me even though I said I remembered everything, and that makes me sooooo angry If they had admitted the mistake from the beginning and just said they would take responsibility so it wouldn’t scar, I wouldn’t have written a post like this
