Before<Before>Before<Before>Before<Before>AfterAfterAfterAfterAfterAfterAfterIt’s almost been 2 years since my surgery, so I’ll leave a 2-year review.
(3-part facial contouring / jawline, double chin, cheekbone liposuction / jaw muscle resection / revision incisional double eyelid surgery + ptosis correction / dual canthoplasty / epicanthoplasty / fat grafting to the forehead and under-eyes) These are the procedures I had, and I got them all done in one day. I remember trembling during surgery because I was scared something might go wrong. I was really worried.
What surprised me during the consultation with the doctor was that he analyzed my face one part at a time and consulted with me in such detail, almost like he was studying it. I really liked that he realistically explained roughly how much, in what shape, and where things would change. He compared the reference photos I brought with my own face and realistically told me things like, “This part may be difficult to make exactly like the photo you brought,” and “This part will probably come out very similar to the photo.” Because he consulted with me like that, I couldn’t help but trust him. It was so different from other places...! So I thought I absolutely had to have surgery with this doctor, and in the end I went ahead with the surgery.
When deciding on a hospital, of course patient reviews are important. Everyone has different styles they want. But personally, no matter how much I think about it, I believe the most important thing when choosing a hospital is how much attention the doctor pays to my face during the consultation, and how much interest he shows while examining my face.
Even if the review photos are good, if that doctor has no interest in my face, no care for it, seems unmotivated, or feels mechanical, the surgery may still go well, but I think the chances of it not going well are higher. I think you need to meet a doctor who does customized cosmetic surgery suited to each person’s face, not a doctor who operates on everyone the same way as if using one mold. It’s hard, but it’s the face you’ll have for the rest of your life, so you really have to be careful.
That’s why I decided to have surgery with this doctor, who showed the most interest and care toward my face and looked at every detail as if analyzing it one by one. I think the part many people are most curious about is sagging. Before surgery, and even afterward, I saw so much about sagging, sagging, sagging on YouTube and cosmetic-surgery-related communities, so I was really worried and scared. I said I was scared but still booked the surgery... haha First of all, as of now, I don’t have issues such as asymmetry, pain, sounds from the cheekbones, nonunion, sagging, collapse of the contour line, sensory abnormalities, or anything like that. Thankfully, the doctor did the surgery well, so I think I recovered without problems. Another thing I was grateful for was that I had read posts saying some hospitals don’t care about you after surgery, but this place continued to look after me just as well without changing.
And as people age, everyone’s skin sags. Since I also had facial contouring, I pay even more attention to sagging, so I keep up with skin treatments and get Ulthera regularly. I do 600 shots each time. I also do InMode Forma and FX together. (I don’t do Shurink because I think it feels a bit weak,, that’s just my opinion.) The most important thing is that I’m exercising hard so I don’t gain facial fat. I went through such a difficult facial contouring surgery, so if I gain fat in my face, there’s no point in having had the surgery...ㅠ
I’m sure there are many people considering facial contouring. Some people feel a lot of pain after surgery, some feel only moderate pain, and some only feel stuffiness. I’m the type who naturally feels stuffiness a lot, so the pain was just so-so, but the stuffiness nearly drove me crazy. And when I was extremely swollen, I had eye discharge, tears, couldn’t eat, and it was really hard. I wondered why I had to suffer so much and what kind of glory I was trying to achieve. But now, seeing how much I’ve changed, I think I could have surgery again! People are so fickle, haha.
I hope everyone researches hospitals carefully and becomes prettier. I hope everyone gets surgery successfully in one go without side effects. Fighting!!
