Leaving a review of my bulbous nose osteotomy and implant-free surgery at ㅁㅅㅇ My nose was high, but my nasal bones were thick, so it didn’t look high from the front, and I had a severe bulbous nose. The doctor said that even if I put silicone in this condition, the front view wouldn’t change and only the side profile would become unnaturally high, so I decided not to use silicone and instead had an osteotomy. I also had alar reduction for the nasal tip.
Maybe because I had an osteotomy, I had the cotton packing in for so long. There were also quite a lot of precautions from the clinic, so the beginning was really hard ㅠㅠ I had to do massages pressing on the splint to prevent swelling and blood pooling, and they told me not to wash my face until the stitches were removed, so my face smelled musty (even wiping with wet tissues still smelled..) They also told me to wash my hair with my head tilted back, so my mom always washed it for me ㅋㅋㅋㅋ
When sleeping, they told me to elevate my upper body and sleep with a humidifier or wet towel nearby, so I even bought a humidifier, but because of the cotton packing I almost died from stuffiness ㅠ I also applied the prescribed antibiotic ointment to the stitch areas morning and evening.
After removing the splint and packing, I had to disinfect inside my nose frequently, and the clinic where I had surgery was really strict about postoperative care. I also went to the clinic often at first;; Is it because it’s a private clinic, or is it always like this after nose surgery? In a way, it was nice because it felt like they kept paying attention and checking on me, but it was a bit tiring..
Still, the clinic staff praised me, saying I took good care of it so the swelling went down quickly and my progress was good, so I felt super happy!!! ㅋㅋㅋㅋ The most important thing, the nose shape: at first the bridge was swollen, so I couldn’t really tell whether the osteotomy had worked, but now I can clearly see that it has become slimmer. I was worried about scarring from the alar reduction, so while I still had stitches I even held back from laughing and paid a lot of attention to it, but the alar reduction incision area is clean and I think the effect is good!! Since my nose got higher and slimmer, my nostrils feel a bit more elongated and oval than before, but if it stays like this, I think I’ll be very satisfied!!
