Changes and impressions will differ from person to person, so I’ll just write this as “this is how it was for me.” I posted it in the chat section, but thought it belonged in reviews, so I moved it!
My arms and back still feel very swollen even now!
First of all, this was a case done while I was severely obese, so it’s not extremely dramatic. Still, I had 6,200 cc removed from my arms and back lol
I was losing weight at the same time, and I got liposuction midway so I could push myself a bit more.
First, my feet swelled so much that my shoes didn’t fit, and especially my right foot was very swollen and the swelling went down late. Just when the swelling in my hands seemed to get better, my feet went crazy.
After a week, it felt like the swelling was draining fast, but around day 10, it felt like I was swelling up again..?
First, until day 5 after surgery, I rested at my mom’s house, then went to where my husband is, but my husband still doesn’t know.. lol He only asked why my hands and feet were so swollen.
I haven’t measured to see whether the sizes changed, but the sagging skin has definitely disappeared a lot, and my arms feel like they barely have any hard lumps, but the accessory breast/back area is pretty bad. Even when I massage it, because the breasts are there too, it keeps hardening ㅠㅠ lol
I’m going to get my stitches removed tomorrow, and I want to get them out quickly and receive aftercare too.
*Detailed review
-For arms, first of all, I thought it wouldn’t be hard when lying down and getting up, but my body stiffened and wouldn’t move well, so for the first week I slept sitting up;;
-First of all, when I wake up after sleeping, my body is stiff and it’s so hard. At times like this, moving seems to make it more comfortable. (stretching, hand massage, walking)
-Food seems important... At my mom’s house, she cooked me a big pot of seaweed soup, and I only ate Korean food. But when I came home alone, I ate some soup, and mostly things like konjac noodles and soy milk, so my condition kind of dropped.. I think it’s important to mainly eat foods that help resolve bruising/blood stasis. It feels like I’d swell right away if I ate weird food, so I haven’t touched instant food, delivery food, or salty food.
I’m definitely drinking 2 liters of water continuously. After surgery, maybe because of the anesthesia medication, my throat gets really dry..? So I’m drinking 2-3 liters.
-After surgery, I finished all my swelling medication, and I was recommended something like swelling tea, so I’m drinking that. But I think I need to take additional swelling medication too, so tomorrow I’m planning to get swelling medication.
-I highly recommend a soft foam roller for people who had back/accessory breast surgery.. Since I can’t massage this area myself properly, I use it just sitting down to press or massage, or I use something like a stick(?) and keep gently rubbing while watching something. Before receiving aftercare, whether you do this or not will probably make a big difference! Especially for people who had a large volume removed ㅠㅠ (that’s me..)
-My weight suddenly dropped 4 kg in the first week, then 2 days later it came right back, and around day 10 I swelled really, really badly. And yesterday and today, I’m losing 1-1.5 kg again each day.. I make sure to walk at least 30 minutes every day. I want to get my stitches out quickly and receive aftercare ㅠㅠ
-It was the same after abdominal surgery too, and sitting down then getting up is hard.. I think you need something like a cushion to lean your back on ㅠㅠ
-When replacing bandages, never just rip them off. Especially these days, since it’s hot, soften them gently with lotion and remove them carefully. The stitch area itself has delicate skin, so be careful.
And they told me to disinfect once every 2 days, but I just changed the bandages almost every day, so I disinfected every day too..
-Compression garments can also tear from your fingernails, so you have to put them on carefully. And keep smoothing them out so there are no wrinkles.
I’m scheduled to have abdominal liposuction at the end of April, and I’m worried about that too^^ I think it gets hard when the weather gets hotter. I regret not doing it a month earlier.
