On January 16 of this year, at Gangnam Station Exit 11, Mr. Lee Min-cheol of Grida Plastic Surgery performed the surgery. I entered the operating room at 5 p.m. and came out of the operating room around 9 p.m. Because I had been under sleep sedation for as long as 4 hours, I barely came to my senses after about 40 minutes in the recovery room and left.
How could they do that to a first-time double-eyelid surgery patient for as long as 4 hours? Can double-eyelid surgery be done for 4 hours under sleep sedation? It was my first double-eyelid surgery!
I had never been told beforehand at all that it would take 4 hours, and what on earth happened in the operating room? It feels chilling that I came out alive, to the point where I feel fortunate.
My eyes became smaller than before surgery, and the double-eyelid lines became sausage-like, with bumpy fat bulging along them.
I am sharing this in a plastic surgery community for the public interest. After I posted a few posts, the clinic called me offering a refund and asked me to take the posts down. They are still calling me even now. Asking me to take the posts down.
During that process, they said I had to come to the clinic in person and sign something, and that I had to meet separately with the chief director and the operating surgeon, so I spent 5 hours going back to Seoul, and when I got to Seoul, this was the clinic that said the chief director and the operating surgeon had gone on vacation and told me to come on another day.
For 6 months, the surgical result from Grida Plastic Surgery was so disastrous that I could not go outside, and at each follow-up at 1 month and 3 months, GRD said that if I was still not satisfied at 6 months, they would do a corrective procedure.
But everyone, would you entrust a revision surgery to a clinic that ruined your first surgery just because it is free?
And every time I went for follow-up, the doctor came out during surgery, wearing a surgical cap, looked at me briefly for about 1-2 minutes in the treatment room, and left after making only very insincere comments.
I was upset because it was ruined, but without even 1 bit of acknowledgment of his insufficient surgical skill, he just kept avoiding it until 6 months, saying the swelling needed to go down.
For 6 months, I could not even go to work or meet people.
The manager at GRD was also in on it, acting like, “The surgery went so well, why are you like this?”
Time kept passing, and I was completely exhausted, so after I left a few posts in the community, they offered a refund and asked me to take the posts down.
I paid 2.29 million won for my first surgery, and because this surgery was botched, after half a year at another clinic, I had a corrective measure done to excise the eyelid skin that had not been cut enough. Not revision surgery, a corrective measure.
And then, after another half year, I will need full revision surgery to create new lines. I am in a situation where I have to spend 3 times more money than the cost of the first surgery to get revision surgery.
Everyone, please do not believe all advertisements or reviews too much, look carefully for cases of side effects as well, and be cautious when deciding on a clinic.
The operating surgeon, Mr. Lee Min-cheol, said he had not cut enough skin, and just as he said, opening my eyes was too heavy and difficult. They became smaller than my eyes before surgery.
At another clinic, they performed skin excision for the skin that GRD had not cut enough, and the cost of the 2 corrective procedures was several times that of the first surgery.
I repeatedly expressed my sincere gratitude to the doctor at the other clinic who performed the corrective measures for me.
The reason I am leaving a review about having my first double-eyelid surgery under sleep sedation for 4 hours at GRD clinic is that I have written only facts, and not for the purpose of defaming the clinic, but as a consumer exercising my rights for the public interest. I hope it helps those of you deciding on plastic surgery choose a clinic. My review is only my personal opinion, and the choice is each person’s own choice. After I posted this, I received another call from Grida. I know there are many people who think Grida is good and famous, but the choice is up to the individual.
