After<My nose is a bit big right now because of the swelling.. for real, like a Hallabong orange^_^ But I’m happy with the line!>Before<I do have a nasal bridge, but the hump was really severe and my nasal tip was completely droopingㅜ I was self-conscious about it turning into an arrow-shaped nose when I smiled>Before<When smiling before surgery>Before<Front view before surgery>After<Front view on day 7 after surgery>I finally got my splint removedㅜㅜ I was a total mess with a hump nose + arrow-shaped nose + long nose + deviated noseㅜㅜ I visited 6 clinics in person and chose the one that seemed the safest and where the doctor’s opinion matched mine the best, and I don’t regret it!
What I wanted during the consultation was definitely natural, safe, not changing my impression too much, and a straight-to-slightly-curved line close to straight. The doctor had said that because my hump was severe, a little bit might remain, but although there is still swelling, they really refined it cleanlyㅜㅜ For the nasal tip, they used ear cartilage and septal cartilage.
The consultant and staff are also appropriately..? kind without being overwhelming. I think this feels more comfortable for me than being overly kind... The clinic isn’t very large, but it’s cozy...and..?ㅋㅋㅋ It wasn’t bad! And above all, I liked that there weren’t too many people, so I didn’t feel like I was being pushed back.
Surgery day: I arrived one hour before surgery, took photos, gargled, washed my face, waited, and then went into surgery. Guardians can watch the CCTV on a tablet. In the middle of sedation anesthesia, I moved around too much, so they woke me up..ㅜ But it wasn’t scary at all because the nurses in the operating room were really kind too. And since I was awake, I could hear and feel what the doctor was saying and doing, and it felt trustworthy. After surgery, I rested a bit in the recovery room and then saw the doctor, and you can see photos taken right after surgery. I had a brief consultation and was discharged. I really liked my nose line then, so I don’t think I felt anxious during the week I had the splint on. I took a taxi home, and that’s when the pain slowly startedㅜ The 4 hours after surgery were really painful, but more than my nose and ear, my upper teeth and gums were killing me..... I still have some bruising on the inside of my upper lip, but after that, maybe because of the medication, it didn’t hurt. At night, since I tried to sleep sitting up, I literally woke up every 10 minutes.. I’d think about 30 minutes had passed and check the clock, but only 10 minutes had passed.. I just couldn’t fall asleep and stayed up all night with my eyes closed....
Day 1: I couldn’t sleep, and in the morning I went right away to get the cotton removed and got antibiotics and a swelling injection. Taking the cotton out of my nose didn’t hurt, but wow, what is that swelling injection.. It may have been because I was in terrible condition, but it hurt so much and felt awfulㅜ Tinglingㅋㅋㅋ And during the swelling laser treatment, my body was so sensitive and exhausted that I said I couldn’t even lie still and ran out.. People really need to sleep well.. The staff must have been flusteredㅜ From the night of day 2, I just slept lying down. The swelling was worst on the morning of day 1, with my whole face swollen and even bruising around my eyes.
Days 2-6: After the first day, I just slept lying straight on my back, and although my mouth was dry, as time passed, I woke up less often at dawn. Even after removing the cotton from my nose, my mucous membrane was swollen, so my nose was blocked. I had almost no swelling except in my nose, and the bruises were all yellow, so I think they’ll mostly disappear in a few days. But my nose is a Hallabong orangeㅎ And the runny nose really makes daily life impossible... Drip dripㅜㅜ It’s harder because I can’t blow my nose, but even just wiping what runs out, I wiped so much that the skin under my nose stings..
I kept applying lip balm, and for my face, I wet a towel with water, warmed it in the microwave, did warm compresses, and then wiped my face with that towel. It felt so refreshing.... I also wiped my face with toner pads. For my hair, I went to the salon on days 3 and 7.
Day 7: Fiiinally went to get the splint removed. I took photos and a nurse did it for me, but because my face was oily..^_^ Removing the splint didn’t hurt at all, and I barely felt the stitches either. When they wiped inside my nose with disinfectant gauze, it was paradise. I did the swelling laser treatment, saw the doctor, and came back. The doctor also said the surgery went well and said I should eat well and rest well so that the autologous cartilage gets absorbed as little as possible. Seeing the doctor look satisfied made me feel even more relievedㅜ
-Day 8: My nose is still bulbous, but the bruising is really almost gone. I go back to work in two days, and with makeup, I don’t think it’ll show at all. I’m so happy that my facial impression hasn’t changed at all, and if I don’t say anything, I don’t think anyone meeting me for the first time would know I had surgery.. But I did re-register Face IDㅋㅋㅋ쿠ㅜㅜ I hope the swelling goes down quickly and it becomes a bit slimmer.
- For swelling care, I only did cold compresses and warm compresses..... Even then, I only worked hard on cold compresses, and I don’t think I did warm compresses much..ㅜㅜ I didn’t really go on walks eitherㅜㅜ I think I drank maybe 2 packs of pumpkin juice.. There was some powdered tea for swelling care at home called Boramcha, so I mixed and drank a few. Even so, the swelling went down pretty well.
- I used 200 sterile cotton swabs over 7 daysㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋㅋ I bought another 100 todayㅜㅜ I ended up using a lot because of the runny nose + ointment.
- A humidifier is essential for me when I sleep..... Even so, my tongue turns into a drought.
I’ll try adding more photos once the swelling goes down~.~ I hope this helps~!
