For my first surgery, I did not use the septum, and instead used silicone and ear cartilage. My septum amount was small, so they used ear cartilage for the support and the nasal tip, and when I got a consultation for removal this time, they said they did not recommend full removal and that the support had to be rebuilt. They said: 1. Reuse the ear cartilage I already have? 2. If not, use the other ear cartilage? 3. Use the septum. But I had already been told at the first hospital that the amount of septum was small, so I did not really like the idea of using my already limited septum.. So I said I did not want to use the septum. But the support made with ear cartilage is bent now, so I worry that even if I reconstruct it again, it will end up bending again.. If I remove the silicone, the bridge will get lower and the tip will show less, but in the end, years later, as aging progresses, the skin will get thinner, so would the cartilage show again then? If I remove everything, will the nose collapse? This is really hard. Is a support rebuilt with septum less likely to bend than one made with ear cartilage?
