One-month review after removal of a septal extension rhinoplasty

I got a lot of help from this community too, and I want to help others as well, so I’m going to write a one-month review after nose removal!

I didn’t have inflammation or any other major side effects, but I decided to have it removed because of the most important issue: breathing..

First, in my case, I had a septal extension raised with ear cartilage as support (no implant), and I decided to remove everything in my nose and finish with septal reinforcement plus cartilage repositioning + tying.

After surgery, from about 1–2 weeks, my breathing issue improved a lot and became much more comfortable, but around the latter half of week 2, the contracture phase started, and from yesterday one nostril became completely blocked and the other started to get a little blocked too.. Wow, this really drives a person crazy. I looked up information while referring to other reviews too, and it seems like sometimes after the contracture phase starts severely, the nose gets completely blocked and then gradually opens up. I really hope that happens for me too.

The contracture symptoms are a feeling like someone is twisting my nose, a heavy feeling in the nose, very occasionally a feeling like something is crawling, and the most important problem is that my nose is completely blocked.. I still need to watch it more, but because my skin type tends to form scar tissue easily, I’ve also been continuing to take Rizaben since the middle of week 3.

I’ll try to write reviews at two months and three months too. I hope this post can at least be a reference for people thinking about removal. If you have questions, ask me! I’ll answer as much as I can within what I know.

Let’s all get through this difficult period well. Fighting
