Hello. I had rhinoplasty when I was a senior in high school. At the time, I had a bulbous nose, but without knowing much, I didn’t reduce its size and raised my nose with ear cartilage. During college, my nasal tip gradually started drooping. It made me look really old, so
around the time I graduated, I had revision rhinoplasty with nasal osteotomy + external alar base reduction + nasal tip lifting + deviated septum surgery + paranasal augmentation.
I had the revision rhinoplasty done like this. It was done with donated costal cartilage, and during the surgery they said something about needing to use some material, I think, but I don’t remember what it wasㅠ
For the line, I preferred a straight line, but the director kept saying that a straight-with-slight-curve line was the trend and kept emphasizing that style. Thinking back, I wish I had just insisted on what I wanted or gone to another hospital.
As expected, I wasn’t satisfied with the surgery, and the side of my nasal bridge still looks bumpy, as if something is protruding.
I don’t think alar base reduction is a surgery one should getㅠ Especially external incisions.. scars and scar tissue... I have large pores and a lot of sebum, and it turned into a mess.
For now, I’m living with it because no major problem has occurred, but if inflammation or another issue develops later, a third revision will probably be unavoidableㅠㅠ I’m so anxious..
Everyone, please be careful with rhinoplasty, do all the legwork and online research, and don’t just leave it up to what the director says. Make sure you find a director whose aesthetic style matches what you’re seeking!
If I could go back, I really wouldn’t be greedy and would do only the minimum. For reference, I had the paranasal implants removed at another hospital six months after getting themㅠ The scar tissue was serious. Don’t do it..
