I had incisional ptosis correction at a late age, and before surgery I got a lot of information and courage from a community, so I’m leaving a review in hopes that it can help even a little.
*Reason for surgery I had asymmetrical eyes, with only one eye having a small inner double eyelid. As I got older, the outer corner of the monolid side drooped and my eyelashes started poking my eye, so I had surgery.
*Consultation I had consultations at a total of 3 clinics, and all of them recommended incision (sad), so I decided on incisional ptosis correction. Among the 3 clinics, I had it done by the head director at ㅇㅇㅂ. The surgery cost was almost twice as much as the other 2 clinics (one semester of private-school tuition), but since he is so famous and this is plastic surgery, I thought I might regret it later, so I trusted the more expensive doctor more. I understood why luxury goods sell well the more expensive they are...
*Surgery They also recommended posterior canthoplasty, so I debated until the day of surgery and decided to do it together. They said that since I’m a man, they would open it only slightly. I’m usually calm and don’t have mood swings, but when I lay down on the operating table, I got really nervous. It made me think women are amazing. The surgery took a little under 2 hours.
I had sedation anesthesia with ketamine, and it felt like I was being sucked into the fourth dimension at 800 km/h, so it was fascinating. Maybe because of the anesthesia, the surgery didn’t hurt as much as I had worried, and after it was over, my throat was extremely dry and sore.
*After surgery I thought it would hurt a lot once the anesthesia wore off, but it only felt slightly stinging? and didn’t hurt at all. The swelling was worst on days 2-3.
I did cold compresses and kept walking around at home until day 5, and after day 5 I walked outside for about 2 hours without sweating, but looking back, it doesn’t seem to have meant much. Time seems to be the best medicine.
*Satisfaction They said they would make an inner double eyelid that only shows slightly at the ends, but for now the line is still visible, so it feels very awkward every time I look in the mirror haha. Still, I think it looks better than before,
and functionally, my eyes open well, fatigue has decreased, and my eyelashes no longer poke my eyes, so I’m very satisfied.
