Right before surgery, I met the attending director, and until then I discussed everything with the manager. I think this is a system where they ask the client whether they want to consult with the director, but I honestly had never been told that. On the day of surgery, I first saw the attending director only when I was writing the consent form or getting some explanation before they drew the design. Until then, everything is handled with the manager.
There is no follow-up check. Unless you contact the manager first, the only time the manager contacted me after surgery was for the post-op precautions, I think. I don't remember exactly, but even if there was contact, I don't remember it being a check on my condition. They never told me in advance what kind of aftercare I would receive after surgery either.
