Reason I decided to have surgery: My eyes are large and my irises are on the larger side, but starting a few years ago my eyes began drooping severely. In particular, it was hard to open my left eye, and as multiple double eyelid folds overlapped, I felt considerable discomfort. I tried using double eyelid tape to open my eyes more, but it did not work well, so I started thinking I needed surgery. At first, I went to an ophthalmology clinic in Yeongdeungpo, had an eye exam and even a surgery consultation, but the ophthalmologist said that because my eyes are large and I already had double eyelids, it would be a more difficult surgery, so they did not recommend surgery right away. So while looking into several hospitals, I went to a clinic in Gangnam and, during the consultation, was recommended another clinic.
From consultation to surgery at the hospital: The director explained things kindly and designed the line while checking the double eyelid line several times. Seeing how meticulous and honest he was made me trust him, so I decided to have the surgery. The staff were generally kind. However, I felt that using the restroom was inconvenient. Another slightly disappointing point was that although the directors’ surgical skill and the staff’s kindness were good, I do not think I could get much help in the recovery room. This was despite the fact that after surgery, as the anesthesia wore off, my physical condition was not very good.
Discomfort after surgery: After sedation anesthesia, as the anesthesia wore off, I kept feeling nauseated and vomited several times, and my body felt cold and trembled.
Improvements after surgery / what I expect: On the first day after surgery, my field of vision definitely became wider. Until now, it had been uncomfortable to open my eyes, so I was happy that I could open them more refreshingly. Now that it has been a week, I am a little worried because it seems like my eyes open less than at first. I hope the swelling and bruising go down quickly.
