I don’t know if I injured it when I was young or if it was always like that, but my nose was a bit crooked, and I also had rhinitis. In winter, it was hard to breathe, so I had surgery from the head of the ENT department at a top-tier university hospital in Seoul, who was famous for being good at nose surgery. It’s been about 7 years, I think.
About a month after the surgery? Breathing felt so comfortable. Ah, so this is how other people breathed.
The middle of my nose did sink in a bit, but breathing was comfortable, so I decided to just forget about it and live with it.
But even two or three weeks after the surgery, I still couldn’t smell well on the side of the nose that had surgery. When I was young, my nickname was dog nose.. I got depressed back then and thought about going to psychiatry, but I overcame it through exerciseㅇ
The hospital said they would do revision surgery if I wanted, but I felt like I would kill myself if the other side of my nose got ruined too, so I never went back to the hospital after that.
I was also young, and I’m not the type to make a fuss, so there was no compensation or anything.. I didn’t get a refund either.
Later, I realized that even the side of my nose that can smell seems to have lost quite a lot of olfactory ability. Other people say they can smell delicious smells or bad smells from far away, but I only know when I get close..
They say the nose is sensitive, and it really does seem sensitive..
I sleep lying on one side, and my nose bends a lot toward the side I lie on.
But they say time heals, and now I’m living while forgetting about it, though I do regret it sometimes. Anyway, I think nose surgery is something you really have to think about carefully.
