I got estimates from a total of 9 places. On the first day, I went to five places recommended by acquaintances. Out of those, four recommended incision + ptosis correction + epicanthoplasty, and one recommended non-incisional double eyelid surgery + ptosis correction. Since she’s a student, I wanted to let her do the non-incisional method. After thinking about it a lot, I booked non-incisional ptosis correction with the mindset that we could have it redone later. But after watching YouTube and studying up on it, haha, I found out that non-incisional ptosis correction isn’t something you should do. If you’re going to do ptosis correction, it seemed better to do it with an incision. That was my judgment. Anyway, so I canceled the non-incisional ptosis correction, and this time I personally did my research and narrowed down four places to visit in person. I mostly made appointments at places that said they do natural adhesion. Among the places I went on the first day, the doctors who recommended incision had firmly said her eyes were not suitable for non-incisional surgery. But on the second day, they all said incision would be more suitable for her eyes, but non-incisional would also be enough.
Maybe on the first day her eyes were a bit swollen, and on the second day she happened to have hidden double eyelids. I think it was because of the double eyelid tape she usually used. Anyway, that day all four places said natural adhesion or non-incisional surgery would work. I’ll give a review of the in-person consultations from the second day.
Nosanghoon, Director Son - natural adhesion + epicanthoplasty (They said incision would be more suitable for her eyes, but since she has atopic dermatitis and is still a student, it would probably be hard to account for the waiting/healing time. They said they would make it as high an in-out line as possible.)
Pop, Kim Donggeol - natural adhesion + epicanthoplasty + upper canthoplasty (Recommended an in-out line. But they said the key was opening up the inner front part. It definitely seemed like her eyes would become bigger and prettier. I was really tempted.)
Orange - non-incisional. (They created an inline, in-out line, and semi-out line, and recommended the in-out line. When I asked about epicanthoplasty, they told the mom not to get greedy, and that when looking at the child’s overall image, this was the most natural and pretty. My daughter said the line the director here made for her was the prettiest.)
TS, Lee Seungchan - natural adhesion (They said her eyes seemed more suitable for incision, but since she’s a student, they recommended natural adhesion with a low in-out line. They also said it would be better not to do epicanthoplasty. Rather, they said if she did lateral canthoplasty later, her eyes might look bigger and prettier. That also seemed right.)
That day, all four consultations were good, so I worried a lot. I thought about doing it at Orange, where my daughter said she liked the line the most, but Orange required waiting over a month, so I gave up. Pop seemed like it would turn out pretty, but I was scared there might be too much change, so I gave up. In the end, I thought it would be better to do epicanthoplasty too, so we did it at Nosanghoon.
As a result, I’m satisfied. It’s very natural, the line is pretty, and the epicanthoplasty has now been 3 months and looks okay. Maybe it would have looked prettier if she had done incision or a more dramatic style, but for now, the goals of the double eyelid surgery were for it to heal during vacation, look natural when the new semester started, not need double eyelid tape, and stop her eyelashes from poking her eyes, so I think it went well. She apparently heard a lot from friends that her eyes are pretty and that her double eyelids are pretty, haha. She told me absolutely not to upload photos. Anyway, you’ll probably visit clinics and think a lot, so go in having decided what you want to do and what kind of result you want. My own satisfaction is the most important.
