For my first surgery, they used septal cartilage and silicone, tied up the nasal tip, worked on the bridge, and corrected a bulbous nose. But just three months later, inflammation started happening once a month in a row, and after a year the nasal tip had been resorbed, so I had revision surgery. The revision was done with costal cartilage, and it definitely seems like the tip is resorbing less and inflammation is not happening.
