I had orthodontic treatment and double-jaw surgery in the second half of 2021 because of malocclusion + extremely severe snaggle teeth.
It has been about a year and a half, and I don’t have any particular side effects, and I’m quite satisfied. If I had to pick side effects, my nasolabial folds became more pronounced when I smile, and my dimples sink in more deeply? That’s about it.
When I had double-jaw surgery, I also had square jaw reduction + genioplasty + upper molar impaction done together, and I think all of those turned out well too. For the square jaw reduction, they removed about 1.8 cm on the right and about 1.3 cm on the left.
To leave an overall review, since my facial features are the same, my face didn’t become dramatically handsome, but I do think double-jaw surgery alone definitely has an effect in turning a dramatically unattractive face into an average-looking face.
