I was worried about freckles, so after a consultation I was recommended a procedure called dual toning, and I had it done ten times at two-week intervals. I was told in advance that it was not a procedure that would show immediate improvement, but rather one that would work with consistent treatment. However, after comparing the progress photos taken each time, the overall skin tone seemed a little brighter, but there was almost no difference in the spots, which actually made them stand out more and look darker. My skin barrier also broke down from the repeated irritation (I didn’t have acne before, but I got 13 pimples within two days after the procedure). The doctor changed every time I had the procedure, and the intensity was different each time, which seems to have made my skin condition worse even more (most of the time my eyes were covered before treatment, but it was possible to confirm and distinguish gender to some extent by voice). At the time, I wasn’t getting any other skin-related treatments besides this one, so I judged this procedure to be the most likely cause of my worsened skin condition. When I asked for a consultation after the 7th and 9th sessions, I mentioned that the effect was showing up slowly and that my skin condition was getting worse, and asked whether it was right to continue. The answer was that I should just avoid the acne-prone areas, and that this procedure starts to show results after around 20 to 30 sessions. During the initial consultation for this treatment, they had said that because the treatment area was relatively small, about 10 sessions would be enough, so hearing a completely different explanation made my trust in the clinic drop sharply, and I didn’t go back after that.
