After finishing the clinic tour, I had some questions I hadn’t been able to ask, so I made a memo list and went back for another consultation. Before the consultation, I had already decided, ah, I’m going to do it here. The director’s consultation was concise and to the point. They also comforted me in between, and I appreciated that. It’s not an easy surgery, but it’s not an impossible one either. It can definitely be improved enough. What made me tilt my head, though, was that my condition involves absorption and deformity of donor rib cartilage (thin skin, visible nasal tip), but at first they recommended autologous rib cartilage, and when I said my nose is small and short and my skin is thin, so autologous rib cartilage (from a donor rib experience) probably wouldn’t hold up, they said ear cartilage would also be possible... that was the part that made me go hmm. There is a same-day booking discount. More than that, the biggest reason I put it on hold is that the manager is really bad. When I asked about before-and-after photos, they said their hospital has almost no foreigners so there aren’t many, and then only showed me a few photos of foreigners. They were even a different nose from mine ㅡ... On top of that, they don’t communicate well. Generally, I think staff follow the owner’s direction, so I felt like even after the surgery I’d be thinking, ah... so this is how it is here. For now, I’ll just be satisfied with the consultation.
