I have fairly severe freckles, so I had spot treatment, and there really seems to be a difference depending on the doctor. The first time, they did not provide any cooling after the procedure, but when I saw another doctor, they did. Personally, cooling clearly reduced the pain and the heat sensation afterward was much less, which was nice. Even with the same treatment, I felt that the experience can differ considerably depending on who performs it. So I think practitioner-to-practitioner variation is really significant. I also had several moles removed at the same time, and one of them became “loss(?)”
