I thought bulbous nose surgery is probably a bit more difficult than other nose surgeries, so I looked specifically for a clinic that specializes in noses. Unlike other places, here the consultation with the doctor came first. The doctor’s style was calm, and to compare him to something, he felt like an old friend of my dad’s. He said osteotomy and alar reduction weren’t necessary, and that even just using silicone and ear cartilage to make the bridge and tip look more refined would definitely improve the bulbous nose. He also said that because my nose is on the smaller side, if too many additional procedures were added, side effects could become severe later. He didn’t push me at all, and instead seemed to think from my perspective, so that part earned a lot of trust. At other places, they had also recommended osteotomy and alar reduction, but after this consultation I thought about it again. He seemed to have a lot of surgical experience, and that showed in how confident he was. He really felt like a specialist. The consultation was also longer than at other places. Oh, and there was a 10,000 won consultation fee here, so I had thought it was a bit of a waste, but after the consultation it felt worth much more than that.
