This is a review about 1 year after my procedure, since I had it done in August last year. I had been extremely stressed because I always had severe dark circles under my eyes. The bulging under-eye area could not be hidden even with makeup. Without makeup, I could not even imagine showing my face T_T Then, while browsing a famous plastic surgery app for the first time, I saw a review of lower eyelid fat repositioning on the featured posts back then. After reading it, I thought, wow, there is a surgery like this too, and immediately booked a consultation. At the consultation, since it was my first time ever consulting at a plastic surgery clinic, I did not really understand much even after talking with the manager and the doctor, and I just heard that dark circles could be improved plus a recommendation to book, so I ended up leaving a deposit that same day lol. I knew so little about this area that I even thought that lower eyelid fat repositioning existed only at this hospital. Since it was my very first plastic surgery consultation, I did not even think about comparing options or doing any real research. And when my friends asked why I booked right away, I regretted it a lot, thinking I should have looked into it more and thought it over, but I decided to trust my own choice for now and the surgery day came. Looking back, I booked so casually, but at least I am glad I did not end up with any major side effects after surgery lol. It even still seems popular for lower eyelid fat repositioning these days lol. After the surgery, I was swollen for about a week, so I did not really know what had changed or how things had changed. Once the swelling went down, the under-eye area definitely became cleaner. I also got laser and LED as post-op care. For the fat graft touch-up, they just said it was not necessary, so I got laser instead. Oh, and the manager who had handled my consultation felt like they paid a bit less attention after the surgery. When I went for follow-up care, I tried to greet them cheerfully, but maybe because they did not want to face me, they would not even look my way. It could just be my misunderstanding lol. But after that, in other places I visited for different procedures, it seemed like there were also not many cases of being connected with the manager after the procedure or surgery, so I am still not sure about that. I did feel a bit hurt about that part lol. Anyway, recently I looked in a mirror while standing under a single light in a dark place, and my under-eyes did have this sunken, hollowed, Gaonasi-like feeling. So I was startled. But normally I do not really notice it. It seems to be because of the lighting. Without makeup, I still have a bit of dark crease-like shading under the eyes. I know pigmentation cannot be helped. Still, with makeup, the dark circles do not show like before. For me, it went from the under-eyes of someone exhausted to the under-eyes of an ordinary person, so if I do not tell newly met people, they would not know at all that I had lower eyelid fat repositioning. People I have not seen in a long time just say I look brighter? The aegyo-sal and eye-smile I worried about before surgery are still there and fine lol. Maybe because I rub my eyes a lot these days or maybe it is just my feeling, but one side does not seem to have a slight recurrence, so I am watching it carefully without touching it as much as possible. But when I found the photo from day 1 after surgery, that side of the eye was actually more swollen. I only recently saw posts saying some of the things I sometimes felt were side effects, but if I had not seen those side effect posts, I think I would have just lived without thinking anything, assuming that was normal. That is because I did not know about this community back then lol. I still do not have major discomfort, but sometimes my eyes feel heavy and like the eyeball is being pulled from below and behind? When it is bad, it is pretty bad, and I get tired easily. How should I put it, it feels stiff and tugged when I move my eyes. I have only had eye surgery for lower eyelid fat repositioning so far, so I am not sure what this is or whether it is because of that surgery, so I plan to check with an examination when I have time. Still, since this was my first cosmetic surgery, I was definitely very satisfied with the clearly changed part. The biggest stress on my face had been the dark area under my eyes, and after lower eyelid fat repositioning, I started noticing other things, which is how I came to learn about this community while trying to look into double eyelid surgery and nose surgery. Anyway, my overall opinion is that getting it done is better than not getting it done!
